Publication number: 20230175326Abstract: An apparatus for perforating a subterranean formation comprises a first perforating gun (33b) having a box end (112) having a nose, a second perforating gun (33a) having a pin end (118) having a shoulder (124); and an alignment assembly. The alignment assembly includes internal threads formed on the box end, external threads formed on the pin end, and an alignment member (120) positioned between the box end nose and the pin end shoulder. The internal threads and the external threads are specified to form an angular alignment between the first perforating gun and the second perforating gun within a first specified angular tolerance. The alignment member has at least one characteristic selected to vary the angular alignment within the first specified angular tolerance without degrading a locking force connecting the first perforating gun to the second perforating gun.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2021Publication date: June 8, 2023Applicant: Owen Oil Tools LPInventors: Bradley Vass, Joe McClanahan, Timothy E. Patent number: 8745522Abstract: A user equipment (UE) and method are provided for displaying items associated with selected media content and to cycle such that multiple items are displayed over time. A UE is provided that includes at least one component configured to display a plurality of items provided in a filmstrip format and associated with a plurality of content and to cycle the items in the filmstrip format. A method therefore is also contemplated.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2010Date of Patent: June 3, 2014Assignee: BlackBerry LimitedInventors: Kalu Onuka Kalu, Tudor Coman, Robert Andrew Connell, Edward Chun Kei Chan, Shiladitya Sircar

Patent number: 8407259Abstract: A system and method are provided which avoid the storage of multiple objects for a single entry in memory, in particular where the entry needs to be stored at least once anyway, a reusable data structure can be implemented which allows both easy and efficient use/reuse of Patricia tree components that are already in use. The data structure can be an integer built from a combination (e.g. concatenation) of a location where the corresponding string has been stored in memory, an offset for finding the word within the string, and a length for extracting all characters from the string that make up the word. Another data component can also be added, which can encode any other feature associated with the word such as a bias level for sorting multiple search results.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2010Date of Patent: March 26, 2013Assignee: Research In Motion LimitedInventor: Robert Andrew Connell

Publication number: 20100319701Abstract: A respirator assembly has a respirator mask and a separate bracing device. The bracing device has a pressure element mountable over a frontpiece of the respirator mask, which bears against that frontpiece to hold the respirator mask against the face of a user. The bracing device also has two connection portions, each having one end attached to the pressure element and the other end being for attaching the bracing device to a helmet worn by the user. The connection portions are extendable. Thus, shortening or distending the connection portions reduces the distance between the helmet and the respirator mask and thereby causes the pressure element to bear against the frontpiece of the respirator mask, compressing the user's head between the helmet and the mask and thereby holding the mask against the user's face.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2010Publication date: December 23, 2010Applicant: AVON POLYMER PRODUCTS LIMITEDInventor: David Andrew Connell

Publication number: 20050233593Abstract: An insulating layer (5) and a conductive seed layer (6) are applied to a substrate (1) in a simple process. A photo resist with palladium chloride are provided in a bath for electrophoretic deposition onto the substrate. The photo resist is an insulator and the palladium chloride is a catalyst. The layer is heated with UV to cure it. The layer is plasma etched to expose more of the palladium chloride, which acts as a catalyst for electrodes plating of the conductive seed layer. A thicker conductive layer (7) is then electroplated onto the seed layer. These steps may be repeated for successive insulating and/or conductive layers.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 21, 2005Publication date: October 20, 2005Inventors: Magall Brunet, Andrew Connell, Paul McCloskey, Terence O'Donnell, Stephen O'Reilly, Sean O'Mathuna

Publication number: 20020142096Abstract: A process of forming a material such as a waveguide with at least two regions of differing refractive indices comprising the steps of: (a) providing an amount of a gelable composition comprising at least one gelable component in a desired form; (b) exposing the gelable composition to conditions which partially gel the gelable composition so that an amount of ungelled material remains; (c) exposing at least one discrete region of the partially gelled product of step (b) to conditions which induce more complete gelation of the partially gelled gelable composition so that more of the ungelled material is incorporated into the gel structure in the exposed regions than in non-exposed regions; and (d) removing material not incorporated in the gel structure at least from the non-exposed region. A second component may additionally be provided, the second component being selected to impart a higher or lower refractive index to that part of the material in which it is incorporated.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 27, 2001Publication date: October 3, 2002Inventors: Andrew Connell, Shane O'Brien, Patrick Vincent Kelly
