  • Publication number: 20240078961
Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein to control brightness based on image content or other inputs to a display system. A dual-control system may integrate both slow control operations and fast control operations into a cohesive brightness management system. By using both shorter-term (e.g., fast control) and longer-term (e.g., slow control) brightness adjustment operations, the electronic device may quickly respond to high luminance and high brightness situations that may cause burn-in into the display, image artifacts, or other damage. Responding quickly to these high consumption situations may prevent damage or perceivable upset to an ongoing process, among other benefits.

  • Patent number: 8809603
Abstract: A method of producing a hydrocarbon fuel from a hydrocarbon-containing gas is disclosed and described. A hydrocarbon-containing gas is produced (10) containing from about 25% to about 50% carbon dioxide and can be reformed (12) with a steam gas to form a mixture of hydrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. The reforming can be a composite dry-wet reforming or a tri-reforming step. The mixture of hydrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide can be at least partially converted (14) to a methanol product. The methanol product can be converted to the hydrocarbon fuel (18), optionally via UME synthesis (16). The method allows for effective fuel production with low catalyst fouling rates and for operation in an unmanned, self-contained unit at the source of the hydrocarbon-producing gas.

  • Publication number: 20120029245
Abstract: A method of catalytically forming reaction products can include providing an ionic liquid phase. The ionic liquid phase can include a catalyst and an ionic liquid. At least one reactant can be reacted (14,16) in the ionic liquid phase to produce reaction products which include at least one of methanol and dimethyl ether. In particular, the ionic liquid can be hydrophobic sufficient to prevent substantial water in the ionic liquid phase. The use of ionic liquids can substantially reduce or eliminate residual catalyst carrier, i.e. ionic liquid, in downstream steps.
