    Abstract: An improved grease composition is disclosed and comprises a novel combination of a Mannich base, a poly- or monourea thickener and an alkaline earth metal carbonate or carboxylate within a lubricating oil. The Mannich base is prepared by reacting formaldehyde, alkylphenol and an amine selected from dialkanolamine, N,N-dialkanol-alkylenediamine and alkylamine.
