  • Patent number: 10849808
Abstract: A patient support device includes an alternate support top, a head support unit partially supporting the alternate support top, a foot support unit longitudinally spaced from the head support unit and an adaptor associated with the foot support unit. The adaptor is securable to the foot support unit so that the adaptor and foot support unit cooperate to partially support the alternate support top so that the alternate support top extends footwardly beyond the foot support unit. The roles of the head and foot support units may be reversed. A related patient support system includes a baseline set of support tops and a set of alternate support tops.

  • Patent number: 10369069
Abstract: A surgical arm positioning system has a cable including two end portions coupled to a connection member of a hand grip. The cable and connection member form a continuous loop. The surgical arm positioning system further includes a frame that supports a number of pulleys. The continuous loop is trained around the pulleys. The surgical arm positioning system also includes a tensile resistance member engaged with the cable. The tensile resistance member provides tensile force to the cable to resist movement of the continuous loop relative to the frame, thereby to hold the patient's arm relatively still during surgery.

  • Patent number: 10045901
Abstract: A carriage for a limb support includes a space for receiving a longitudinal member of a patient support apparatus, a plurality of rollers configured to engage the longitudinal member and a locking mechanism. The plurality of rollers is configured to maintain alignment of the carriage during movement of the carriage along the longitudinal member. The carriage also includes an elastomeric member that resists rotation to prevent unwanted motion of the carriage. The locking mechanism is configured to secure the carriage to the longitudinal member at any of an infinite number of positions along the length of the longitudinal member, the locking mechanism being lockable with a single action.

  • Patent number: 10023317
Abstract: An exemplary ventilation air mixer includes a branch air duct and a trim air mixer. The branch air duct has an inlet that is configured to be coupled to a takeoff port of a main air source duct. The branch air duct has multiple holes arranged about a wall of a mixing portion. The trim air mixer at least partially surrounds the branch air duct and forms a cavity extending from the inlet of the branch air duct to at least the mixing portion. The trim air mixer has a trim air source duct connection coupled at an angle about a midsection. The angle is substantially acute relate to a longitudinal axis of the branch air duct such that trim air entering into the trim air mixer via the trim air source duct connection is directed toward the inlet of the branch air duct.
