  • Patent number: 11923604
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to using a plurality of antennas radially distributed about a rotatable turret to sequentially scan a field of view. Each of the plurality of antennas directs an electromagnetic beam and senses its reflection along a principal direction defined by a roll position of the rotatable turret and an azimuthal beam angle. The principal directions of the antennas have a unique azimuthal beam angle relative to a boresight (i.e., axis of rotation). As the turret rotates, each of these antennas is sequentially turned on at a first roll position and off at a second roll position. This enables electromagnetic beams generated by the antennas to pan a scene both in azimuth and roll. An image processor then determines, based on the reflected signals received by the plurality of antennas, directions to and/or velocities of objects within the scanned field of view.

  • Publication number: 20240066241
Abstract: Breathing assistance apparatus includes a gases supply unit adapted to, in use, deliver a stream of pressurised gases from an outlet. The gases supply unit is adapted to vary the pressure of the stream of pressurised gases. A supply path includes a flexible self-supporting gases transportation pathway having a first end connected to the outlet so that the gases transportation pathway receives the stream of gases and conveys the gases to a patient. A patient interface is connected to the second end of the gases transportation pathway receives a stream of gases. At least one sensor measures at least one information parameter of the supply path. A control system associated with the gases supply unit receives the information parameter. The control system contains reference data, and compares the received data to reference data, and determines a supply path based on the comparison.

  • Publication number: 20240071593
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that provide smart alerts to users, e.g., alerts to users about diabetic states that are only provided when it makes sense to do so, e.g., when the system can predict or estimate that the user is not already cognitively aware of their current condition, e.g., particularly where the current condition is a diabetic state warranting attention. In this way, the alert or alarm is personalized and made particularly effective for that user. Such systems and methods still alert the user when action is necessary, e.g., a bolus or temporary basal rate change, or provide a response to a missed bolus or a need for correction, but do not alert when action is unnecessary, e.g., if the user is already estimated or predicted to be cognitively aware of the diabetic state warranting attention, or if corrective action was already taken.

  • Patent number: 11913835
Abstract: Embodiments herein describe spectroscopy systems that use an unmodulated reference optical signal to mitigate noise, or for other advantages. In one embodiment, the unmodulated reference optical signal is transmitted through the same vapor cell as a modulated pump optical signal. As such, the unmodulated reference optical signal experiences absorption by the vapor, which converts laser phase noise to amplitude noise like the other optical signals passing through the vapor cell. In one embodiment, the unmodulated reference optical signal has an optical path in the gas cell that is offset (or non-crossing) from the optical path of the modulated pump optical signal. The unmodulated reference optical signal allows removal or mitigation of the noise on the other optical signal.
