  • Publication number: 20160103776
Abstract: Interconnect circuitry 10 for connecting transaction masters 4, 6, 8 to transaction slaves 12, 14 includes response modification circuitry 18. The response modification circuitry includes shortlist buffer circuitry 28 storing identification for modification target transaction responses. The response modification circuitry 18 uses this identification data to identify among a stream of transaction responses in transit a modification target transaction response. The response modification circuitry 18 then serves to form a modified transaction response to be sent in place of the modification target transaction response to the transaction master 4, 6, 8.

  • Patent number: 9311244
Abstract: An interconnect has transaction tracking circuitry for enforcing ordering of a set of data access transactions so that they are issued to slave devices in an order in which they are received from master devices. The transaction tracking circuitry is reused for also enforcing ordering of snoop transactions which are triggered by the set of data access transactions, for snooping master devices identified by a snoop filter as holding cache data for the target address of the transactions.

  • Patent number: 9306597
Abstract: Data compression is described herein. The encoder transmits a coded word having replacement bits, as well as a code that defines the starting location of the replacement bits in a data sample. The replacement bits may be actual bits from a selected location in the new data sample. The selected location of the replacement bits can vary from data sample to data sample. The encoder may select the location based on the most significant bit that has changed. Thus, reconstructed data will be bit-accurate from the replaced bits all the way to the highest-order bit. A limited number of key values can be transmitted losslessly. Moreover, the data compression does not need forward error correction (FEC), which is a necessary part of many lossy delta encoding schemes. Furthermore, the encoding and decoding can be done very efficiently in terms of hardware and/or software.

  • Patent number: 9300716
Abstract: Timings of data traffic in a test system are modified by introducing dependencies that would arise in response to data requiring access to a resource comprising a buffer for storing pending data related to an access to the resource that cannot currently complete. A maximum value of a counter is set to a value corresponding to the buffer size. Data traffic is input, and the counter is updated in response to the data requiring the resource and being stored in the buffer and in response to the data traffic indicating a buffer entry has become available. Where the data requires the buffer and the counter is at its maximum value indicating the buffer is full, a timing of the data access requiring the buffer is modified indicating that the data is stalled until the buffer has capacity again, and the data traffic is updated with the modified timing.

  • Publication number: 20160087675
Abstract: An Ethernet interface module comprises a duplex port operable to transfer frames between said Ethernet network and a device and a path coupling a receive portion of the duplex port to a transmit portion of said first full duplex port. A queue is disposed in said first path. Evaluation apparatus is coupled to the queue and determines whether a received frame is addressed to said Ethernet interface module and whether a frame type field contains a frame type. The Ethernet interface module is operable in a first mode such that every said received frame is echoed back out the full duplex port; and is operable in a second mode such that each received frame that meets predetermined evaluation criteria is echoed back out the duplex port and those received frames that do not meet the predetermined evaluation criteria are discarded.

  • Patent number: 9294301
Abstract: An arbiter is configured to select one of several contending data packets transmitted from an initiator, the data packets comprising an identifier identifying the initiator and data. The arbiter comprises: a history buffer for storing the identifiers identifying the initiators of a plurality of recently selected data packets; and selection circuitry configured to select one of the contending data packets in dependence upon the initiators of the contending data packets and the initiators identified in the history buffer, such that a probability of a data packet being selected increases with the number of data packets selected since a data packet from the same initiator was selected.

  • Patent number: 9294017
Abstract: While motors or generators stacked in series may allow for higher operating voltages, such motors or generators may also exhibit instability. To minimize instability, the motors or generators may be controlled to have an approximately equal current. An example motor system may include motor stacks connected in series, each motor stack exhibiting a respective stack voltage and a respective differential power (based on a difference in power between motors in the motor stack). A control system may average the stack voltages to generate an average stack voltage and generate a nominal stack power corresponding to each stack voltage. The control system may receive the differential powers, combine each differential power and nominal stack power for the respective motor stack to generate first and a second motor powers, and control each motor stack using the first and second motor powers.

  • Publication number: 20160074450
Abstract: The invention extends the utility of apparatus used to extract medicinal cannabis compounds into an eluate by separating a portion of medicinal cannabis compounds contained within a portion of eluate at a first extraction target level providing enough clean solvent to continue extraction operations. A high efficiency concentrator such as a rotary evaporator or a wiped film evaporator processes eluate from one or more tanks or extraction vessels creating clean solvent when extraction targets are met or when clean solvent is exhausted. This manages eluate concentration levels and limits the quantity of concentrated medicinal cannabis compounds on site at any moment in time. The invention enables a business model for keeping medicinal cannabis compounds within a legal system, and reduces pollution because law enforcement would no longer have to burn large quantities of cannabis plant matter.

  • Patent number: 9286139
Abstract: An automatic mutual exclusion computer programming system is disclosed which allows a programmer to produce concurrent programming code that is synchronized by default without the need to write any synchronization code. The programmer creates asynchronous methods which are not permitted make changes to shared memory that they cannot reverse, and can execute concurrently with other asynchronous methods. Changes to shared memory are committed if no other thread has accessed shared memory while the asynchronous method executed. Changes are reversed and the asynchronous method is re-executed if another thread has made changes to shared memory. The resulting program executes in a serialized order. A blocking system method is disclosed which causes the asynchronous method to re-execute until the blocking method's predicate results in an appropriate value. A yield system call is disclosed which divides asynchronous methods into atomic fragments.
