  • Publication number: 20230019499
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of determining a pose of each of a plurality of objects includes, for each given object: using image data and associated depth information to estimate a pose of the given object. The method includes iteratively updating the estimated poses by: sampling, for each given object, a plurality of points from a predetermined model of the given object transformed in accordance with the estimated pose of the given object; determining first occupancy data for each given object dependent on positions of the points sampled from the predetermined model, relative to a voxel grid containing the given object; determining second occupancy data for each given object dependent on positions of the points sampled from the predetermined models of the other objects, relative to the voxel grid containing the given object; and updating the estimated poses of the plurality of objects to reduce an occupancy penalty.

Abstract: A compression screw driver system including a drive member having a shaft extending from a proximal end to a distal end. A drive selection member is positioned about the shaft and is axially moveable along the shaft between an engagement position and a disengaged position. A distal portion of the drive selection member defines a first engagement structure. A compression sleeve is positioned over the distal end of the shaft. The proximal end of the compression sleeve defines a second engagement structure which complements the first engagement structure and the distal end of the compression sleeve defines a contact surface. In the engagement position the first and second engagement structures are engaged and the compression sleeve rotates with the drive member and in the disengaged position the first and second engagement structures are disengaged and the compression sleeve remains stationary while the drive member rotates.

  • Publication number: 20220221320
Abstract: A method and test apparatus determines a volume of a droplet of liquid. The test apparatus deposits a drop of liquid to be measured on a surface that provides a known contact angle with the liquid under the deposition conditions used, thereby establishing one of: (i) an advancing, (ii) a receding, and (iii) an intermediate contact angle. The test apparatus images the drop. The test apparatus measures a dimension of height or diameter of the drop. In one embodiment, the test apparatus calculates a volume of the drop of liquid from the relationship of the contact angle to one or more parameters selected from the maximum height, the diameter of the contact patch, the radius of curvature, or the cross sectional area of the drop.

  • Patent number: 11276191
Abstract: Certain examples described herein relate to estimating dimensions of an enclosed space such as a room using a monocular multi-directional camera device. In examples, a movement of the camera device around a point in a plane of movement is performed, such as by a robotic device. Using the monocular multi-directional camera device, a sequence of images are obtained at a plurality of different angular positions during the movement. Pose data is determined from the sequence of images. The pose data is determined using a set of features detected within the sequence of images. Depth values are then estimated by evaluating a volumetric function of the sequence of images and the pose data. A three dimensional volume is defined around a reference position of the camera device, wherein the three-dimensional volume has a two-dimensional polygonal cross-section within the plane of movement. The three dimensional volume is then fitted to the depth values to determine dimensions for the polygonal cross-section.
