  • Patent number: 6522548
Abstract: An interface module included in a headend rack for enclosing electronic circuitry having a top, a bottom, and a back side that slides into the headend rack and connects to a backplane. The interface module includes a first planar surface connecting to the top side forming a first angle, a second planar surface connecting to the bottom side forming a second angle, and a front planar surface connecting the first and second planar surfaces. The first and second angles are equal and are obtuse. The interface module further includes a plurality of connectors extending from the first, second, and front planar surfaces for electrically coupling mating connectors with the enclosed electronic circuitry. The first, second, and front planar sides extend out of the headend rack, whereby the first, second, and front planar extended surfaces allow for a greater area for the plurality of connectors, thereby allowing conventional modules to be combined into one interface module.

  • Patent number: 6320131
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing for a single piece, hinged cable routing device for use with cables. The device includes sections hingedly connected allowing each section to flex and bend. The device can include fingers on an upper portion of the device. Upon pushing a cable through the fingers, the cable securely remains in position within the device. In a preferred embodiment, the device connects cables to an amplifier housing in a cable television network. When the amplifier housing closes, the device folds securely within the amplifier housing ensuring the cable remains in a position within the amplifier housing that avoids electrical interference and noise.

  • Publication number: 20010014551
Abstract: A plug-in module (100) for electronic equipment (425) includes circuitry (140) for processing electrical signals, a housing (400) for at least partially enclosing the circuitry (140), and at least one electrical pin (115) extending from a bottom surface of the housing (400), coupled to the circuitry (140), and having a first length. The module (100) also includes an installation guide (420) extending from the bottom surface of the housing (400) and having a second length greater than the first length such that, as the plug-in module (100) is inserted into a receiving member (125) of a substrate (120) to which it is to be mounted, the installation guide (420) contacts the receiving member (125) before the at least one electrical pin (115) contacts a receptacle (130) so that the pin (115) is guided into the receptacle (130).

  • Patent number: 5930113
Abstract: A housing for heat emitting components includes a housing body and a housing cover. The housing cover includes an interior portion occupied by the heat emitting components when the housing body engages the housing cover, and a volumetric cooling element including a plurality of internal fins arranged to occupy a volume adjacent to the interior portion of the housing cover when the housing body engages the housing cover, wherein the internal fins volumetrically cool the volume.
