  • Publication number: 20240090966
Abstract: A surgical draping system includes an under-draping, an over-draping, and a connecting draping connected by the under-draping and the over-draping. The surgical draping system is used to establish and maintain a surgical corridor to a surgical site or sites on a patient supported by a surgical table. The surgical draping system can accommodate rotation of the patient on the surgical table, such that the sterile surgical corridor is maintained even during such rotation. The sterile surgical corridor extends through an aperture formed in the over-draping, through an enclosed passageway formed through the connecting draping, and through an aperture formed in the under-draping.

  • Patent number: 11857467
Abstract: A surgical table includes a sagittal adjustment device for manipulating the position of a patient. The surgical table includes a base portion including an upper surface for spacing the sagittal adjustment device from the ground. The sagittal adjustment device includes a first support portion and a second support portion. The first and second support portions are supported by and moveable over the upper surface of the base portion. The first and second support portions each include an upper surface configured to support portions of the body of the patient thereon. One of the first and second support portions is pivotally attached to the base portion, and moveable between a first position and a second position. The pivotal movement between the first and second positions of the one of the first and second portions serves in repositioning the body of patient to manipulate the spine of the patient.

  • Publication number: 20230337923
Abstract: A coordinate locating device comprising a support structure removably connectable to a wearable sensor device being worn by an individual. The support structure comprising a planar surface. The device includes a plurality of different fiducial marker components connected to the planar surface. The plurality of different fiducial marker components includes a set of fiducial markers connected to the planar surface in a non-collinear configuration relative to each other to define a three-dimensional (3D) space of pixels in an image. The plurality of different fiducial marker components includes a distance calibration fiducial marker connected to the planar surface and being configured to define a distance calibration length of pixels in the image, the distance calibration fiducial marker being perpendicular to the planar surface and defining a calibration length to locate a point of origin of motion sensing by the wearable sensor device. A system and method are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20200283823
Abstract: Various approaches for generating long-distance contiguity information to facilitate contig assembly and phase determination are disclosed. Nucleic acids are assembled into complexes using binding moieties such that, when the nucleic acid backbones are cleaved, the ensuing fragments remain bound. Exposed ends are tagged and ligated either to one another or to tagging moieties such as oligo labels. Ligated junctions are sequenced, and the sequence information is used to assemble contigs into common scaffolds or to assign phase information. Various approaches to tagging the exposed ends are presented.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an intramolecular trans-sialidase (IT-sialidase) enzyme from Ruminococcus gnavus and fragments thereof. It also relates to methods of production of the IT-sialidase or its fragments, in addition to uses of the IT-sialidase, its fragments, or compositions comprising the IT-sialidase. One of the uses of the IT-sialidase or its fragments encompassed by the present invention is a method for production of 2,7-anhydro sialic acid derivatives. Further uses of the IT-sialidase enzyme include the therapeutic and prophylactic treatment of infections and respiratory conditions.

  • Publication number: 20180137556
Abstract: A financial exchange system and method is disclosed. The system and method include a global purchase order including a version specification portion, at least one financial authority identifier, a transaction identifier, and a producer code. A merchant creates the global purchase order and communicates the global purchase order to prospective customers. The customer then receives the global purchase order and forwards it along to the customer's financial provider agent in order for the customer to obtain other purchase details, such as price, in order to execute a purchase transaction.

  • Patent number: 9856875
Abstract: Air compressor systems, upgrade kits, computer readable medium, and methods for controlling an air compressor for improved performance. The methods may include receiving a working air requirement; determining an estimated air pressure of the air compressor to deliver the working air requirement; measuring a pressure of the air compressor; comparing the measured pressure with the calculated estimated air pressure; if the measured pressure of the air compressor is greater than the determined estimated air pressure by a predetermined greater amount, then decreasing an output control of the air compressor; and if the measured pressure of the air compressor is less than the calculated estimated air pressure by a predetermined lesser amount then increasing the output control of the air compressor. The air compressor may be controlled based on a measured pressure of delivered working air. An oil control system may shut off oil to parts of the air compressor.
