  • Publication number: 20170339002
Abstract: In general, embodiments of the invention relate to a method for managing network element state information (NESI). The method includes receiving, from a target entity, a state information request, storing a preferred transport protocol (PTP), obtaining a preferred serialization encoding (PSE), determining, in response to the state information request, that a program specific representation (PSR) on a network element is populated with the NESI, serializing the PSR using the PSE, and transmitting a serialized PSR, to the target entity, using the stored PTP.

  • Patent number: 9154890
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method wherein preceding and succeeding data elements of a data element to be sent next are analyzed in order to set a signal pattern which can be correctly recovered on the receiving side in spite of intersymbol interference. More particularly, depending on the transmission characteristics of the transmission path, the content of a window within the data stream to be sent wirelessly is examined in order to determine an energy content with which a data symbol has to be sent so that the data can be recovered securely.

  • Patent number: 9148736
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and apparatuses designed to reduce the power usage of a hearing prosthesis. To reduce the power usage of the prosthesis, an external portion may transmit a signal having a plurality of transmission parameters to an internal component. The external portion receives an indication of an implant power parameter associated with the plurality of transmission parameters. After receiving the indication, the external portion adjusts at least one transmission parameter. After adjusting at least one parameter, the external portion transmits a signal to the internal component based on the adjusted parameters and responsively receives an indication of an implant power parameter associated with the adjusted parameters. Based on the received indication of the implant power parameter for a plurality of transmissions, the external portion determines a preferred set of transmission parameters. Finally, the external portion is operated based on the preferred set of transmission parameters.

  • Publication number: 20040158462
Abstract: An improved method of performing channel selection in multi-channel pitch detection systems. For each channel, several features are computed using the input signal and the value of the pitch candidate from the channel. The resulting feature vector is used to evaluate a multi-variate likelihood function which defines the likelihood that the pitch candidate represents the correct pitch. The final pitch estimate is then taken to be the pitch candidate with the highest likelihood of being correct, or the mean (or median) of the pitch candidates with likelihoods above a given threshold. The functional form of the likelihood function can be defined using several different parametric representations, and the parameters of the likelihood function can be advantageously derived in an automated manner using signals having pitch labels that are considered to be correct. This represents a significant improvement over previous channel selection methods where the parameters are chosen laboriously by hand.
