  • Patent number: 9584631
Abstract: A translation device may receive configuration information that identifies traffic associated with messages for managing a network device via a console session with the network device. The translation device may receive a message via an air interface of a cellular network, and may compare a first parameter identified in the configuration information and a second parameter of the message. The translation device may determine that the message includes an administration message based on comparing the first parameter and the second parameter. The translation device may translate the administration message from a first format, received via the air interface, to a second format, for transmission to a console port of the network device, and may provide the translated administration message, via a wired connection, to the console port of the network device. The translated administration message may cause the network device to execute an instruction included in the translated administration message.
