    Abstract: A load bearing weight distribution device is provided. The device comprises a flexible, yet rigid, back brace, a waist belt, wherein the waist belt is connected through a housing to back brace, and a vertical and circumferential tensioning mechanism. The back brace comprises flexible body with arms. The vertical and circumferential tensioning mechanism comprises a first securement strap and a second securement strap. The load bearing weight distribution device is designed for use with armor vests and other similar devices. First and second securement straps connect upper front portion of the armor vest through first and second channels and first and second rings, respectively, of the back portion and through first and second passages of the armor vest, respectively, for attachment to a securement device positioned on a lower front portion of the armor vest.

    Abstract: A load distribution device for distributing the load of an armor vest worn by a wearer. The vest includes a front portion, a rear portion, and a shoulder portion. The load distribution device includes a belt, a coupling, and one or more securement straps. The coupling attaches the belt to the rear portion of the vest. Each securement strap comprises a rear securement strap and a front securement strap. Each securement strap is configured to extend from the shoulder portion of the vest to the rear portion of the vest. In another aspect, the load distribution device includes a cummerbund. Each rear securement strap extends from a shoulder portion to a securement strap loop. Each front securement strap is fixed at one end to the cummerbund, loops through the securement strap loop, and extends in an opposite direction towards the front of the wearer.

    Abstract: An armor carrier for retaining a plurality of armor plates. The armor carrier includes front and rear portions, a pair of shoulder straps, and a pair of side panels. The front portion comprises a pocket configured to hold an armor plate, and the rear portion comprises a pocket configured to hold an armor plate. Each shoulder strap is configured to connect the front portion to the rear portion. Each side panel includes a plurality of waist straps, each of which forms part of a connection between the front portion and the rear portion. The waist straps allow for adjustment of the side panels relative to the rear portion. The armor carrier may also include a pair of back straps, which in combination with the waist straps, allow a wearer to adjust the placement of the side panels relative to the rear portion to accommodate the build of the wearer.
