Patent number: 12263139Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of cannabidiol (CBD) for the treatment of tumours associated with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC). In particular the CBD was able to decrease the number and size of marker cells, pS6, in a zebrafish model of TSC. This is suggestive of a disease modifying effect whereby treatment with CBD could result in the reduction or prevention of the benign tumours that occur in TSC patients. Preferably the CBD used is in the form of a highly purified extract of cannabis such that the CBD is present at greater than 98% of the total extract (w/w) and the other components of the extract are characterised. In particular the cannabinoid tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) has been substantially removed, to a level of not more than 0.15% (w/w) and the propyl analogue of CBD, cannabidivarin, (CBDV) is present in amounts of up to 1%. Alternatively, the CBD may be a synthetically produced CBD. In use the CBD is given concomitantly with one or more other drugs used in the treatment of TSC.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2023Date of Patent: April 1, 2025Assignee: JAZZ PHARMACEUTICALS RESEARCH UK LIMITEDInventors: Benjamin Whalley, William Hind, Royston Gray, Michael Bazelot, Ines De Silva Serra, Claire Williams, Andrew Tee

Publication number: 20250057414Abstract: A monocular and/or a binocular system may be used to generate one or more images, or videos, of a subject's retina by scanning in one or two directions in one or two dimensions to, for example, measure and/or report fixation, smooth pursuit, and/or saccadic responses of the subject's eye. The scanning and/or image generation process may be optimized to correct for distortions in the subject's eye and/or improve SNR among one or a plurality of retinal images. In some cases, the retinal images may be used to train a retinal feature detection model and/or algorithm that may be used to make predictions and/or inferences regarding a visual pattern showing features of subsequently received retinal images. These models and/or predicted patterns present within the models may be used by the retinal feature detection model and/or algorithm to monitor features of the retina and, in some instances, track voluntary and/or involuntary eye motion.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2022Publication date: February 20, 2025Applicant: C. Patent number: 11784911Abstract: Methods and apparatus relating to the use of aggregated links, e.g., links in a bundle, are described. A normal link metric and a limited operation mode link metric a determined for a link bundle, the normal link metric having a lower value than the limited operational mode link metric. The status of links in a link bundle are monitored. Based on the number of currently operational links in a link bundle and a switching threshold, a decision is made whether to advertise the normal link metric, advertise the limited operation mode threshold or refrain from advertising any link metric. The use of the limited operation link metric facilitates the use of a partially failed link bundle providing an alternative routing path in the network that would not otherwise be available.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2022Date of Patent: October 10, 2023Assignee: Charter Communications Operating, LLCInventor: Willard Andrew Gray
