    Abstract: Innovations in integrating a skill-based selection mechanism and a random number generator (“RNG”)-event-based mechanism in an electronic gaming device are described. For example, an instance of a process of an electronic gaming device uses a set of reels and at least one RNG. The set of reels includes one or more skill-based reels and one or more RNG-event-based reels. For each of the skill-based reel(s), based on user input, a stop position at which to stop a reel strip for the skill-based reel is determined. For each of the RNG-event-based reel(s), a random number is generated using the RNG, and a stop position at which to stop a reel strip for the RNG-event-based reel is determined. Then, based at least in part on instances of symbols in a reel area for the stopped RNG-event-based reel(s), an outcome of the instance of the process is determined.

The control logic also selects a subset of the active reels. The control logic spins at least some of the active reels on a display screen of the device. The control logic shifts some active reels into a reel area while shifting other active reels out of the reel area, before stopping at the subset of the active reels. Reel shifting can increase game volatility while maintaining a designated level of return to player. At the same time, by selecting side reels and reels within the reel area when shifting stops, outcomes can satisfy regulations.

The pass-through assembly includes a base portion, a first isolation portion, a second isolation portion, a sealant and a cap portion. The base portion is inserted into the housing portion with an airtight seal. The first isolation portion is arranged to fit within an annular opening in the base portion. First and second isolation portions include apertures for a motor lead. Sealant is disposed between the isolation portions. A cap portion attaches to the base portion. An anti-rotation element prevents relative rotation there between.

Social content, corresponding to multiple computer users, is obtained from a plurality of social networking sites. The social content is stored in a content store, making it available for searching. In response to receiving a search query (directed to social content), a set of search results is identified, the search results including at least one item of social content obtained from a social networking site. The social content in the search results is filtered according to privacy constraints. A presentation of the filtered search results is generated and provided to the requesting computer user.

    Abstract: Systems, computer-readable media, and methods for tagging documents based on a graph pertaining to one or more entities which a user has included in a search query. The user may have at least one social networking relationship with the entity. A search engine is configured to display a search engine results page in response to the search query received from the user. The search engine may also receive suggested tags that identify documents that could be linked to the entity identified in the query. The user may confirm that the suggested tags are appropriate via feedback that is transmitted to the search engine. In turn, the search engine updates a graph to reflect a number of users that agree with the suggested tag.

Upon receipt of a search query that includes a name of an entity, the server device provides search results and entry fields to tag one or more URLs that correspond to the entity. The server device obtains a social network of the user that provided the query. The server device processes the social network to locate entities that match the query and that are within a threshold number of hops. The user may tag one or more URLs with social network account information for the entities based on authorization information received from an owner that manages the social network account.

    Abstract: Cross-linked toner resin having linear portions and cross-linked portions of high density microgel particles, where the toner resin is an unsaturated polyester resin, is prepared using a liquid chemical initiator such as 1,1-bis(t-butyl peroxy)-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexane so that the cross-linked resin achieved contains less than 0.20 percent by weight of acids. In particular, the cross-linked toner resin is free of benzoic acid. The method of making the cross-linked toner resin includes (a) spraying the liquid chemical initiator onto the unsaturated polyester resin prior to, during or subsequent to melting of the unsaturated polyester resin to form a polymer melt; and (b) subsequently cross-linking the polymer melt under high shear to form the cross-linked toner resin.
