  • Patent number: 11928632
Abstract: A method of deception detection based upon ocular information of a subject provides a video camera configured to record a close-up view of a subject's eye. A cognitive state model is configured to determine a high to a low cognitive load experienced by the subject. An emotional state model is configured to determine a high to a low state of arousal experienced by the subject. After asking a question, the ocular information is processed to identify changes in ocular signals of the subject. The cognitive state and emotional state models are evaluated based solely on the changes in ocular signals where a probability of the subject being either truthful or deceptive is estimated for a binary output.

  • Patent number: 11920225
Abstract: Elements formed from magnetic materials and their methods of manufacture are presented. Magnetic materials include a magnetic alloy material, such as, for example, an Fe-Co alloy material (e.g., the Fe-Co-V alloy Hiperco-50(R)). The magnetic alloy materials may comprise a powdered material suitable for use in additive manufacturing techniques, such as, for example direct energy deposition or laser powder bed fusion. Manufacturing techniques include the use of variable deposition time and energy to control the magnetic and structural properties of the materials by altering the microstructure and residual stresses within the material. Manufacturing techniques also include post deposition processing, such as, for example, machining and heat treating. Heat treating may include a multi-step process during which the material is heated, held and then cooled in a series of controlled steps such that a specific history of stored internal energy is created within the material.

  • Publication number: 20220093006
Abstract: Provided are stomach simulating devices and methods for simulating a stomach. Stomach simulating devices can comprise a bag-shaped conduit, a mechanical constrictor, and a valve. The conduit can have a body portion, a first diameter at an inlet portion, and a second diameter at an outlet portion, wherein the first diameter at the inlet portion is greater than the second diameter at the outlet portion, the body portion is located between the inlet portion and the outlet portion, and at least a portion of the conduit is curved in a direction from the inlet portion the outlet portion. The mechanical constrictor can he configured to constrict at least a portion of the body portion of the conduit. The valve can be configured to at least partially close a portion of the conduit closer to the outlet portion than the inlet portion of the conduit.

  • Patent number: 10482727
Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing. A semi-rigid polymer light pipe ring is positioned along the housing. A portion of the semi-rigid polymer light pipe ring extends outwardly beyond a convex major surface of the housing. A substantially planar housing member is coupled to and seals an interior of the semi-rigid polymer light pipe ring.

  • Publication number: 20170212381
Abstract: A device includes a liquid crystal display panel, a compression pad, and a bottom chassis. The bottom chassis supports the liquid crystal display panel. The compression pad has a first surface facing the liquid crystal display panel and a second surface opposite the first surface. The second surface faces away from the liquid crystal display panel. The compression pad substantially fills a volume between the liquid crystal display panel and the bottom chassis. Also, a method of assembling a device includes providing a liquid crystal display panel having a display module reflector, aligning a compression pad assembly with the liquid crystal display panel, and removing a compression pad liner from the compression pad. The compression pad assembly includes the compression pad and the compression pad liner.
