Abstract: A method is disclosed to monitor the status of devices disposed in a computing system. The method provides a computing device comprising a plurality of devices, and a system monitoring algorithm comprising a monitoring interval and a device status for each of (N) devices disposed in the computing device, where those (N) devices comprise a portion or all of the plurality of devices. The method sets for each value of (i), the (i)th monitoring interval and the (i)th device status, where the (i)th device status is selected from the group comprising active and inactive; where (i) is greater than or equal to 1 and less than or equal to (N). As long as the (i)th device status is set to active, the method monitors the status of the (i)th device at the expiration of each (i)th monitoring interval. On the other hand, as long as the (i)th device status is set to inactive, the method does not monitoring the status of the (i)th device at the expiration of each (i)th monitoring interval.

A destination module determines an intended storage device for the rule. A modification module modifies a rule matrix of the intended storage device with the rule.

Abstract: A pair of servers are employed to provide a secure low-overhead authentication of a user. A certificate server of the pair receives personal information of the user from a first client over a first network and provides an encrypted user certificate to the first client over the first network, wherein the encrypted user certificate includes an encryption of one or more personal attributes of the user corresponding to the set of personal information. A device control server receives the encrypted user certificate from a second client over a second network and provides remote access information to the second client over the second network, wherein the remote access information facilitates remote access to a device by the user over the second network based in response to a verification by the device control server of the encrypted user certificate.

Abstract: A product service reporting system, method and program product for reporting product problem resolutions. A service code database contains service code records of previously encountered product problem and associated problem solutions. The service code database is sorted based on service code. Problems and associated problem solutions for specific products are entered in the service code database thorough a service code input interface. Service code records are hierarchically searched by field through a customer service input interface.
