  • Patent number: 11927091
Abstract: A drill bit has a plurality of cutters secured to the bit body, including a gauge cutter defining a gauge diameter of the drill bit. A reciprocating gauge assembly on the bit comprises a cavity defined in the bit body, a piston reciprocably disposed in the cavity, a wear element on an outwardly facing end of the piston, a piston retainer for moveably retaining the piston in the cavity, and a spring biasing the piston outwardly to a neutral position of the wear element with respect to the gauge diameter. The wear element and piston may be urged inwardly in response to an applied load at the drill bit gauge pad, increasing the lateral depth of cut and thereby controlling the aggressiveness of the bit in response to the load.

  • Patent number: 11927581
Abstract: Systems and methods presented herein generally relate to greenhouse gas emission monitoring and, more particularly, to a greenhouse gas emission monitoring workflow using various different types of sensors. For example, a system includes a plurality of sensors located within an oil and gas worksite. At least one sensor of the plurality of sensors is configured to detect a status of equipment at the oil and gas worksite. The system also includes a greenhouse gas emission analysis system configured to receive sensor data from the plurality of sensors. The greenhouse gas emission analysis system is also configured to correlate the sensor data from the plurality of sensors (e.g., using one or more reduced order models (ROMs) that reduce the computational complexity of computational fluid dynamics model simulations of previously collected data relating to operation of the oil and gas worksite).

  • Publication number: 20230259108
Abstract: A computer implemented method includes receiving, by the computer, a request to display a process safety risk matrix associated with a process facility and displaying the process safety risk matrix. The process safety risk matrix includes a 2-dimensional representation of a plurality of risk matrix cells, each of the plurality of risk matrix cells associated with a combination of a likelihood level and a severity level. The computer implemented method includes displaying, by the computer, an indication of a hazardous process event scenario within a first cell within the process safety risk matrix, the cell location determined based on a Target Mitigated Event Likelihood (TMEL) and a Safety Severity. The computer implemented method includes displaying, by the computer, an indication of a second graphic indication on a second cell to identify a change in a hazardous scenario count associated with the second cell.

  • Publication number: 20070063594
Abstract: An electrical machine having a centrifugal compressor for producing a fluid flow to cool one or more portions thereof. In one embodiment, the fluid is separated into separate flows, each of the flows flowing through only a portion of an annular gap formed between a rotor and stator of the electrical machine. According to some embodiments, the centrifugal compressor pushes a fluid through the electrical machine, whereas, in other embodiments, the centrifugal compressor pulls the fluid through the electrical machine. The centrifugal compressor includes an impeller that is attached to a shaft of the rotor. According to other embodiments, the electrical machine may include longitudinal channels formed between a housing of the electrical machine and the stator. A first flow of the fluid travels through the annular gap, and a second flow travels through the longitudinal channels. The electrical machine may also include a damper disposed in the longitudinal channels.
