  • Publication number: 20150092410
Abstract: A luminaire is disclosed having a lighting element mount which can have a base and one or more wings acting has heat dissipation fins. A lighting element (e.g. a PCB populated with LEDs) can be mounted (e.g. directly) to the base of the lighting element mount to conduct heat away from the lighting element. The lighting element mount can be incorporated into the luminaire so as to associate the lighting elements with apertures in the luminaire, thus allowing the lighting elements to be protrude to the bottom of the luminaire while the wings extend rearward of the luminaire and both the base and the wings of the lighting element mount are exposed to ambient air.

  • Patent number: 7972026
Abstract: Housings are described that include snap fittings or connections that can be placed on portions of the housing to allow assembly of the housing in the field, without the need for assembly tools or welding. Reduced assembly time and cost, as well as the reduction/elimination of tooling costs for assembly tools and/or associated hardware can therefore be realized. Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure can include a snap fitting with first and second portions, e.g., male and female portions, including a portion having a tab or clip punched out of a sheet and including a holding protrusion or portion, and another portion having an aperture or depression configured and arranged to receive and be held by the holding portion. Preferred embodiments can be utilized as light pole base covers.

  • Publication number: 20100232152
Abstract: A lighting assembly comprises a body and at least one socket mount pivotably mounted to the body and at least one socket removably secured to the socket mount; the socket mount pivotable between first and second socket mount orientations in which the socket is at least partially located within the body channel in the first socket mount orientation and at least partially located outside the channel in the second socket mount orientation.

  • Patent number: 6464378
Abstract: A luminaire reflector formed from at least one sheet of reflective material is folded and curved by hand to form a self-standing reflector having a predetermined three-dimensional reflector shape. Each sheet of reflective material includes integral panels that are joined to adjacent panels through fold lines that allow the panels to be folded by hand. The panels have free edges that are folded and/or curved into abutting relationship. The panels include locking members and positioning tabs formed adjacent the free edges to retain the reflector in a predetermined three-dimensional reflector shape. Methods of making a self-standing reflector for a luminaire are also disclosed.
