  • Patent number: 4952896
Abstract: A filter assembly 40 for an electrical connector 94 includes a plurality of terminal subassemblies 42 having a terminal member 44 and a plurality of filter component members 52, 60, 68 mounted thereon. The subassemblies are disposed within respective apertures of a dielectric substrate member. Each terminal member has first and second connecting portions 46, 48 and extending intermediate filter receiving portion 50 therebetween. The components are mounted on terminal member 44 such that the first and second component members 52, 60 are electrically connected to respective first and second terminal connecting portions and the third member 68 is disposed therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4880397
Abstract: The present invention discloses a filtered cable harness connector assembly 10 including a multiterminal connector 12 having at least one row of terminals 18 therein terminated to conductors 28 of a cable 26, at least one filter subassembly 30 secured to the conductors 28 rearward of the multiterminal connector 12 and means covering the connector 12 and subassembly 30. The cable conductors are arranged in at least one planar array 29 and extend rearwardly from the connector 12 in a given lateral spacing. One filter subassembly 30 is associated with each at least one array of conductors. The subassembly 30 has plurality of contact members 32, a purality of filter members 58, means 50 housing the contact members 32 and filter members 58, and bus means 46.

  • Patent number: 4729752
Abstract: A transient suppression device for use in an electrical connector is disclosed. The device is comprised of a dielectric substrate means having conductive path means thereon, electrical terminal means disposed on said substrate means and transient suppression means for electrically connecting said electrical terminal means and said conductive path means. Said device suppresses voltages outside a specified level as they are conducted through said terminal means thus protecting the connector from power surges.
