  • Patent number: 12222800
Abstract: A technique for writing data to pages in a QLC block of a QLC NAND flash memory device, where the device comprises a plurality of SLC pages organized in SLC blocks and a plurality of QLC pages organized in QLC blocks. The technique comprises storing received data in SLC pages, dividing equally a QLC block in a predefined number of sub-blocks according to a corresponding QLC page health status of the pages of the QLC block. Upon determining that SLC pages are to be copied from SLC pages to QLC pages, copying device-internal the respective SLC pages to the sub-blocks of the QLC block using device-internal cache registers, where the copying is based on an error-count aware scheme.

  • Patent number: 11739305
Abstract: ?2-6-Sialyltransferase (2,6ST) variants having improved ?2-6-specific sialidase activity as compared to the native 2,6ST enzymes are described. The variants include GT80 sialyltransferases such as P. damselae Pd2,6ST. Methods for making de-sialylated products and screening sialidase activity are also described.

  • Patent number: 9163596
Abstract: A thermal recirculation valve (TRV) is described that provides for effective fuel module heating during cold operation to mitigate fuel waxing or gelling issues. The TRV allows for the control of heated return fuel flow into the module dependent upon the module's outlet fuel temperature without the return fuel directly contacting the wax element. The wax element is isolated from direct contact with the higher temperature return fuel through use of an elastomeric seal which prevents return fuel from directly contacting the wax element. In addition, the wax element is positioned in the fuel outlet of the module.

  • Patent number: 7296207
Abstract: A method of communicating datagrams between terminals (nodes) of a communications system. In systems operating over unreliable media, redundancy check data can be included in a datagram for use in verifying the integrity of the datagram when received by a terminal; and satisfactory receipt of the datagram can be confirmed by the receiving terminal issuing a response datagram to the originating terminal, for example an acknowledgement. The redundancy check data of a received original datagram (which redundancy check data includes information on the identity of the originating terminal and the content of the datagram) is utilized in the generation of new redundancy check data for the acknowledgement (or other type of response) datagram. The originating terminal receives and processes the response datagram in conjunction with its own local record of the redundancy check data of the original datagram.

  • Patent number: 6463545
Abstract: A laptop computer system executes automatic battery calibration to improve the accuracy of the battery's internal charge monitor. The calibration procedure drains the battery to approximately 0% of charge capacity during normal computer operation, permitting a user to operate the computer without risking power failure when the battery discharges. The computer returns to normal operation if either the AC power or the battery is removed. During the calibration procedure, the computer system prevents power management software from forcing shut down before the battery completely drains.
