Patent number: 11941486Abstract: Computational systems and methods employ characteristics of a quantum processor determined or sampled between a start and an end of an annealing evolution per an annealing schedule. The annealing evolution can be reinitialized, reversed or continued after determination. The annealing evolution can be interrupted. The annealing evolution can be ramped immediately prior to or as part of determining the characteristics. The annealing evolution can be paused or not paused immediately prior to ramping. A second representation of a problem can be generated based at least in part on the determined characteristics from an annealing evolution performed on a first representation of the problem. The determined characteristics can be autonomously compared to an expected behavior, and alerts optionally provided and/or the annealing evolution optionally terminated based on the comparison. Iterations of annealing evolutions may be performed until an exit condition occurs.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2023Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: D-WAVE SYSTEMS INC.Inventors: Steven P. Patent number: 11092010Abstract: An underground support system having an underground reinforcement system that is at least partially encapsulated with concrete or a cement material. The underground reinforcement system includes a flexible wire mesh having a matrix of longitudinally and transversely extending metal wires. The matrix of longitudinally and transversely extending metal wires has at least one three-dimensional sheet, each sheet having at least one raised corrugation, positioned along the length of an underground space. The raised corrugation acts as a template depth girder for application of concrete or cement material at a defined depth such that the underground reinforcement system is at least partially encapsulated with the concrete or cement material.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2020Date of Patent: August 17, 2021Assignee: DSI Tunneling LLCInventors: John M. Mulvoy, Andrew J. King

Publication number: 20210239003Abstract: A tunnel reinforcement system having a plurality of structural supports positioned at spaced intervals along the length of a tunnel. Each structural support has a plurality of structural segments connected in an end to end relationship. Each structural segment has a plurality of bars connected to a first end and a second end, in which the first end comprises a first butt plate having one or more apertures, and the second end comprises a second butt plate having one or more apertures. The one or more apertures of the first butt plate or the second butt plate of a structural segment are coaxially aligned with the one or more apertures of the first butt plate or the second butt plate of another structural segment in an end to end relationship. The first butt plate or the second butt plate of a structural segment is attachable to the first butt plate or the second butt plate of another structural segment in an end to end relationship. Each structural support defines a geometric supporting framework.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 20, 2021Publication date: August 5, 2021Applicant: DSI TUNNELING LLCInventors: John M. MULVOY, Andrew J. Patent number: 5703887Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for achieving synchronization and detecting errors in a data stream such as an MPEG-2 transport packet stream. In an MPEG embodiment, the MPEG sync word is removed and replaced with a parity code that is used at the decoder for both synchronization and error detection. A syndrome calculator in the decoder can be implemented using a unique one bit in, one bit out FIR filter. Codewords used to generate the parity code can be provided by a linear block code that is a dual of a shortened cyclic code.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1994Date of Patent: December 30, 1997Assignee: General Instrument Corporation of DelawareInventors: Chris Heegard, Andrew J.
