Patent number: 10647379Abstract: A bicycle trailer has a frame with a hitch portion that comprises first and second yoke arms with respective first end and second end portions. Skewer engagement latches can be coupled to the second end portions of the yoke arms. The skewer engagement latches can have stops that pivot between stop open and closed positions. In the stop open positions, respective end portions of a bicycle skewer can inserted into or separated from the latches. In the stop closed positions, respective end portions of the bicycle skewer, if positioned in respective latches, are retained coupled to the yoke arms by the latches. The stops are moved between open and closed positions by an actuator, such as by respective cable portions attached to the stop portions. Desirably the actuator simultaneously moves the stops between the open and closed positions. The latches can have skewer engagement surfaces that are least in part spherical.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 2018Date of Patent: May 12, 2020Assignee: Burley Design LLCInventors: Mike Dotsey, Evan Aamodt, Andrew J. Publication number: 20200050226Abstract: A voltage boosting method, system, and circuit which can be incorporated into a battery or device or can be added as a circuit that interfaces between a battery and a device. Optionally, the voltage boosting system can be added without requiring the battery or the device to be modified. The voltage boosting circuit incorporates a pair of transformers and does not require a step-up transformer, thus enabling the circuit to be constructed in a compact form, optionally within a single integrated circuit package. One or more mechanical or automatic switches can be provided which enable the voltage boosting circuit to be disconnected from the battery and the load until such time as the voltage of the battery or battery bank falls below a predetermined amount, at which time the one or more switches can be activated, thus engaging the voltage boosting circuit.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 7, 2019Publication date: February 13, 2020Inventors: Andrew J. Miller, Mitchell Kirschner

Patent number: 10473056Abstract: A ferrous piston for gasoline powered engines having dimensions which achieve reduced mass and improved performance is provided. The piston crown has a thickness of less than 4 mm and includes valve pockets with an axial clearance between the valve pockets and an uppermost ring groove of less than 1.5 mm. The pin bosses have an axial thickness of less than 3.7% of a bore diameter, which is the largest outer diameter of the piston, measured between a pin bore and the crown at 1 mm from an inner face forming the pin bore. Each pin boss has a radial thickness of less than 3% of the bore diameter measured between the pin bore and a lower end of the pin boss. An undercrown surface presents a projected area of less than 45% of a total piston bore area, wherein the total piston bore area is ?BD2/4, BD being the bore diameter.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2018Date of Patent: November 12, 2019Assignee: Tenneco Inc.Inventors: Andrew J. Patent number: 10247093Abstract: An assembly including a connecting rod, a bushing, and a locking pin capable of providing different compression ratios in an engine is provided. The bushing is disposed in a bore of the connecting rod. An outer surface of the bushing includes a pair of notches, and an inner surface of the connecting rod includes a corresponding notch for receiving the locking pin. The notches are spaced from one another by greater than 180° and by no more than 190°. The locking pin is movable in the notch, allowing the bushing to rotate from a low compression position to a high compression position, or vice versa. The bushing has a varying thickness, and thus a center axis of an opening of the bushing is closer to the shaft of the connecting rod body when the bushing is in the low compression orientation than in the high compression orientation.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 2017Date of Patent: April 2, 2019Assignee: Tenneco Inc.Inventors: Andrew J.
