  • Patent number: 10494272
Abstract: The present invention is a self-regenerating biofilter. The biofilter tank receives untreated water through an intake inlet, filters it through a filtration mass and expels purified water through an output outlet. The filtration mass includes gravel and activated carbon layers separated by a mesh screen. A compressed air line is located below the mesh screen. Periodically, the biofilter self-cleans by opening a flush valve that expels a flush water stream carrying debris. The biofilter self-regenerates by periodically stopping filtration for a time, allowing biological matter left on the activated carbon to degrade into biomass. Periodically, the biofilter removes and flushes out biomass by application of water or a combination of air and water.

  • Patent number: 10473560
Abstract: A core sampling and tapping assembly is disclosed that may be mounted to a cylindrical pipe. The assembly includes a nozzle having an interior portion extending between an open distal end and a proximal end. The proximal end sealed to an upper saddle member and the upper saddle member coupled to a lower saddle member to clamp the pipe in between. The assembly further includes a tapping mandrel including a mandrel plate, the tapping mandrel extending through the interior portion and a core cutter fixedly coupled to the mandrel plate. The assembly further includes a pilot bit coupled to the mandrel plate and disposed within an interior cavity of the core cutter. The tapping mandrel adjacently aligns the core cutter and the pilot bit with an outer surface of the pipe and subsequently rotates the pilot bit and core cutter to collect a core sample from the pipe.

  • Publication number: 20190186640
Abstract: A gate valve for a pressurized pipe includes a paddle member with a lower proximal portion and a pair of spaced-apart and leg portions that form an outer edge and an inner edge. A cartridge includes a valve stem channel extending through a distal portion and through a conduit and terminating at a proximal opening in a proximal portion of the cartridge. The proximal portion of the cartridge includes a slot for accommodating the inner edge of the paddle member. In a pre-compression configuration, the inner edge of the paddle member is spaced-apart from the proximal opening of the conduit and in a post-compression configuration, the inner edge of the paddle member engages and seals the proximal opening resulting in a built-in check-valve that is open when the paddle member is in the pre-compression configuration and closed when the paddle member is in the post-compression configuration.

  • Publication number: 20180028202
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for identifying the proper implant for use in an arthroplasty procedure and preparing a bone surface for the placement of such implant. In one embodiment, a centering guide system includes a cannulated post and a translucent surface trial where the cannulated post includes a slit defining legs that flex to engage the post when inserted in a hole of the surface trial. The system is used to confirm a suitable implant size and place a pilot wire in preparation for implant placement. The cannulated post and the translucent surface trial provide comprehensive visibility of the glenoid surface. When inserted into the surface trial, an extension of the cannulated post beyond an articulating surface of the surface trial is minimal or nonexistent. In this way, the congruence of a reamed glenoid surface can be evaluated prior to implantation of the implant.
