Publication number: 20140020449Abstract: A method of measuring a density of two liquid phases in a mixture with a gas phase. The three phase mixture is fed into an inlet vertical column of a flow loop where the gas phase is separated from a liquid mixture of the two liquid phases. The gas phase rises to an upper section of the inlet vertical column, while the liquid mixture flows to a lower section. A differential pressure of the liquid mixture is measured in the lower section. A density of the liquid mixture is calculated using the measured differential pressure of the liquid mixture. A volume or mass percentage is determined for each of the liquid phases in the liquid mixture. A volumetric flow rate is measured. A volumetric flow rate and accumulated volume of each liquid phase is calculated based on the volume or mass percentage of that liquid phase in the liquid mixture.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 17, 2012Publication date: January 23, 2014Applicant: Zedi Canada Inc.Inventors: Tokunosuke Ito, Andrew Jarman

Patent number: 7263459Abstract: A field instrument and system for obtaining pressure, flow and temperature data from a facility. The field instrument includes an enclosure having an opening therein. An integrated analog sensor is sealingly contained within the opening. The field instrument further contains an external analog sensor. An analog to digital converter converts the analog signals to digital readings. An external digital sensor is also provided, with the digital output being communicated through a second opening within the enclosure. A control member that receives, stores and processes the digital readings is positioned within the enclosure. A communication module is included to transmit the digital readings to a remote computer. The communication module allows for two way communication between the field instrument and remote computer. The remote computer may be a server that allows for access by many users. The communication module also allows for locally accessing the digital readings via a serial port to a local terminal.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2005Date of Patent: August 28, 2007Assignee: zed.i solutions (Canada), Inc.Inventors: Toku Ito, Kevin Benterud, Robert Do, Andrew Jarman
