Publication number: 20230341008Abstract: A pulley assembly having a body, a shaft mount and a plurality of bolts is disclosed. The body is aligned to the shaft mount by providing a tight tolerance between a shoulder portion of the bolt and a neck portion of a counter sunk hole formed in the body. Additionally, an outer surface of the body may have a pattern of friction lines or patches formed by fusing particulate matter to the outer surface with heat generated by a laser beam.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 10, 2023Publication date: October 26, 2023Inventor: Andrew Jason Zimmer

Publication number: 20230279924Abstract: A multi-component idler or pulley that may be used with a belt and pulley system of an automobile is disclosed. The multi-component idler may have an external idler housing coupled to a mounting hub that is designed to be connected to a mounting surface of the belt and pulley system. The axial position of the external idler housing may be adjustable relative to the mounting hub using a threaded engagement or a plurality of shims between the components. The external idler housing and the mounting hub may be fastened to each other by bolts once their positions are adjusted relative to each other. Different types of external idler housing may also be used with the mounting hub. In this way, the serpentine belt of the belt and pulley system may be adjusted based on the user's needs.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 23, 2023Publication date: September 7, 2023Inventor: Andrew Jason Zimmer

Publication number: 20230243632Abstract: A tool for identifying a correct belt for a system of pulleys from a plurality of prefabricated belts having different lengths is disclosed. The tool may include a belt track attached to a first end portion of a measurement belt. The measurement belt may be wrapped around the system of pulleys. An opposed second end portion of the measurement belt may be disposed adjacent to the belt track which may include a reference indicator. The reference indicator will be aligned to one of a plurality of measurement markings on the second end portion which indicates the correct belt to order from among the plurality of prefabricated belts.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 3, 2023Publication date: August 3, 2023Inventor: Andrew Jason Zimmer
