Patent number: 11933510Abstract: This application relates to a building energy analysis and management system for measurement and verification of building performance. The system can analyze, optimize, manage, maintain, trouble shoot, and/or modify building systems, such as HVAC systems, in connection with the building energy usage. Measurements may be gathered for one or more HVAC units coupled to pressure independent valves, and sent to one or more Surge Panels that pass data to remote analysis servers, which can receive other system or external data. The analysis servers compare measurements to predicted values and can standardize the predicted values to account for external conditions. The comparison can result in difference values used to generate probable causes and optimization recommendations. The system outputs reports or other data display using a graphical user interface that can be adjusted for an anticipated user.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2021Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: FlowEnergy, L.L.C.Inventors: Arthur Neal Smith, Joshua Jerome Doerr, Christopher Tillman Reed, Jeffrey Michael Creighton, Christopher John Robson, Andrew James Horn, David Anthony Rogers, Larry Ray Willis, Jr., Billy Joe Melin, Sr., Tamara Jewell Hansen

Publication number: 20220048572Abstract: We disclose a chassis for a vehicle, comprising an interconnected framework comprising a plurality of tubular sections, and at least one sheet bonded to the framework, wherein the tubular sections are of a non-ferrous metallic composition. The non-ferrous tubular sections have a very thin wall; generally, these sections are made by extrusion, which currently allows for wall thicknesses no thinner than about 2.5 mm. We prefer the wall thickness to be about this level, and ideally no greater than 3 mm. Such a thin-walled tube would usually imply a lower resistance to buckling, but as part of the structural element defined above, we have found that the tube does not buckle and in fact has an impact response that is superior to other alternatives. We therefore prefer that the tubular sections have a profile for which the ratio of the minimum area moment of inertia of its cross section to the square of the unsupported length of the section is less than 2 mm2.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 10, 2019Publication date: February 17, 2022Inventors: Ian Gordon Murray, Frank Coppuck, Andrew John Smith

Patent number: 10348668Abstract: A system and method for sending a message over a network are provided. An example system includes a first network interface that is assigned a first Internet Protocol (IP) address, where the network interface is linked to a logical network. The system also includes a messaging protocol module that obtains a first message to be sent over a messaging network to a target system linked to the logical network, generates a second message by encapsulating, based on a messaging protocol, the first message, and determines a destination address for the second message, where the destination address includes a text string and a second IP address of the target system. The system further includes a second network interface that sends over the messaging network the second message having the destination address, where the messaging network is based on the messaging protocol.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2013Date of Patent: July 9, 2019Assignee: Red Hat, Inc.Inventors: Andrew John Smith, Theodore Langston Ross
