  • Patent number: 8976757
Abstract: A method is provided of transferring a call connection with a mobile terminal from a first network to a second network. The first network is capable of handling both circuit-switched and packet-switched modes of connection. The second network is capable of handling one of the packet-switched or circuit-switched modes of connection but not both. The terminal is capable of both packet-switched and circuit-switched call modes of connection. The method comprises the first network: identifying the location of the mobile terminal with respect to at least one of the networks, identifying the mobile terminal as being in a mode of connection not usable in the second network, instructing the mobile terminal to transfer the call connection to the other mode of connection, and transferring the call connection to the second network.

  • Patent number: 7516208
Abstract: Improved and more efficient techniques are described for reducing the amount of work that needs to be performed by a database in a computer network in order to distribute event summary data to a large number of administrator clients. Delays experienced by event data at a database, e.g., due to delays in accessing a database, are reduced so that client can be notified of the events as soon as possible. Furthermore, event data obtained from both local and remote networks is efficiently coordinated using replica and union processes. Each monitoring location in the network includes both locally generated events, and a copy of remotely-generated events which are provided and maintained by one or more remote monitoring locations. The monitoring locations update one another with their event data.

  • Publication number: 20080267128
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for a handover of a UE (User Equipment) currently engaged in a voice call. More particularly, the invention relates to a handover from 1) a packet based radio where Voice Service is provided via VoIP over the radio and is controlled via Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) based signalling (e.g. LTE, E-UTRAN or WIMAX radio) to 2) a radio access network where Voice Service can be only provided via circuit switched (CS) domain (a visited mobile switching centre (VMSC) is needed) such as legacy 3GPP UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network (UTRAN)/GSM/Edge Radio Access Network (GERAN) coverage.

  • Publication number: 20080009293
Abstract: A method is provided of call setup between a calling terminal and a called mobile terminal. The calling terminal is in a first telecommunications network. The called mobile terminal has a home telecommunications network and roams in a second telecommunications network that is not its home network. The second network is for wireless telecommunications. The second network forwards information as to the location of the called terminal to the first network. The calling terminal receives information as to the location of the called terminal before call setup is completed.

  • Patent number: 7043727
Abstract: Described herein are methods and systems for preparing to efficiently distribute data to be extracted from a data store to clients and for distributing such prepared data to the clients. The methods and system have particular utility in the context of a network monitoring system which captures and stores network event data and makes the event data available to clients according to any desired view or summary. One method for preparing the data involves storing as primary requests one or more client requests for data to be extracted from the event database. Additional client requests for event are each compared to the stored primary requests to determine whether each additional request matches a stored primary request in accordance with a given criterion, such as a filter or summary formula. If the additional request matches a stored primary request, the additional client request is associated with the matching primary request.
