  • Patent number: 8838228
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that reduce the likelihood of infection caused by microorganisms. In general, microorganism population control can be achieved by exposing the population to an effective dose of electromagnetic radiation sufficient to cause a reduction in proliferation of the microorganism, wherein the electromagnetic radiation has a center wavelength between about 385 nm and about 425 nm. In preferred embodiments, the systems and methods described herein can be embodied in catheterization systems.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 9, 2011
Date of Patent: September 16, 2014
Inventors: Arthur Beisang, III, Andrew Kirchoff, David Shelander

  • Patent number: 6385037
Abstract: A portable computer system has an enclosure including a base with a first surface and a microprocessor mounted in the enclosure. A keyboard is mounted in the base of the enclosure and is coupled to provide input to the microprocessor. A mass storage is coupled to the microprocessor and a display is coupled to the microprocessor by a video controller. A system memory is coupled to provide storage to facilitate execution of computer programs by the microprocessor. A support member is attached to the enclosure and at least a portion of the support member extends from the first surface of the enclosure adjacent the keyboard.
    Type: Grant
