  • Publication number: 20220073767
Abstract: Provided is an ink composition for use in drop on demand inkjet printing such as piezoelectric drop on demand inkjet printing. The ink composition has a phosphine oxide initiator and benzyl acrylate. The amount of benzyl acrylate is less than 40 wt % based on the total weight of the ink composition and the total amount of mono-functional monomers is less than 45 wt % based on the total weight of the ink composition. The phosphine oxide initiator is a bis-acyl phosphine oxide, a benzoyl alkyl phosphinate, or a mixture thereof. The ink compositions are suitable for radiation curing and have good cure properties or good adhesion properties.

  • Publication number: 20210095148
Abstract: Provided is an inkjet composition for printing an indelible colorant onto a substrate. Also provided is a method of printing using the inkjet composition, and a printed substrate obtainable and obtained from the method of printing. The inkjet composition has an indelible colorant, one or more solvents, and a binder. The migration distance of the indelible colorant in the substrate is less than 0.85 mm after 7 days at 25° C. The composition may be used to provide indelible markings in the surface of the substrate, and these markings do not significantly disperse over time.

  • Publication number: 20200199388
Abstract: Disclosed is an ink composition comprising one or more volatile organic solvents and one or more colourants. The ink composition includes a binder resin having one or more polymers and a metal crosslinker for cross linking the polymers of the binder resin. The one or more polymers contain coordinating groups for cross linking the polymers of the main binder resin with the metal crosslinker. The ink composition is useful in inkjet printing such as continuous inkjet printing, and may be suitable for producing durable codes on substrates which undergo industrial retort and sterilisation processes. The ink may also provide thermal stability and reliability in the printer.
