Publication number: 20250109571Abstract: A work machine, such as an excavator or a backhoe, has a linkage of articulating arms for maneuvering a changeable work tool. Position and motion sensors and force sensors within the linkage provide data for a controller to determine a location of the work tool and down force applied from the linkage onto the work tool during a job. Based on characteristics of the work tool, an acceptable range of down force applied by the linkage may be assigned. If down force reaches an outer bound of the acceptable range during the job, the controller may generate an alert for the operator or adjust action by the work tool to maintain the down force within the acceptable range. Depending on the work tool and job, the down-force control can help improve work quality and guard against tool damage from dry-fire or overload conditions.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2023Publication date: April 3, 2025Applicant: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Mark William Thompson, Trent Randall Stefek, Andrew L. Publication number: 20250072811Abstract: Devices, systems, and techniques are disclosed for managing electrical stimulation therapy and/or sensing of physiological signals such as brain signals. For example, a system may assist a clinician in identifying one or more electrode combinations for sensing a brain signal. In another example, a user interface may display brain signal information and values of a stimulation parameter at least partially defining electrical stimulation delivered to a patient when the brain signal information was sensed.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 18, 2024Publication date: March 6, 2025Inventors: Evan D. Patent number: 5340610Abstract: An object is splatter painted by painting the object with a basic paint, coating the painted surface with a clear polymer, rotating and heating the object, applying paint to the clear polymer coat by a slinging action while the clear polymer is still tacky to receive the paint from the slinging action and have the slung paint become imbedded in the tacky polymer coat and merge with the polymer to provide a smooth finish, allowing the slung paint to completely dry, and applying a coat of clear polymer over the completely dry surface. The paint can be slung from a pointed rod which has been dipped in a paint supply.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 1994Date of Patent: August 23, 1994Inventor: Andrew L. Thompson
