  • Publication number: 20190307570
Abstract: The present invention relates to a crescent or tri-corner shaped orthopedic plate with at least a first and a second end, and generally coextensive top and bottom surfaces joined directly or indirectly by an edge. The plate includes a plurality of fixation holes the first end of the plate and a second end of the plate that receives locking screws and intermediate the two holes, the plate includes a recess that defines a screw hole edge at an angle relative to the top surface of the plate so as to receive and support a screw in the recess. The invention further relates to a method of fusion using the plate and a clamp designed for the method.

  • Publication number: 20190150994
Abstract: An orthopedic plate has a first end including a locking screw hole that receives a locking screw and spaced from that hole is a closed compression housing that extends from the bone-facing side of the plate and which receives a compression screw that forms an angle of from about 10° to about 70° with a longitudinal axis of the plate. The compression housing is not located on the medial line of the plate, but is peripheral to the medial line, either in the longitudinal or the medial direction of the plate.

  • Publication number: 20170100121
Abstract: The invention comprises a fusion implant system for a generally u-shaped bone staple in which the staple is provided on a storage block with the two side legs in an un-splayed position, and an inserter having two triangular shaped pivoting handles has detachable tips that engage the staple on the storage block such that when the handles are aligned one over the other in a congruent position, the tips force the side legs into a splayed configuration at 90° and a sliding block holds the handles in this position to allow the staple to removed from the storage block and tamped using the inserter handles into respective bone.

  • Patent number: 8795369
Abstract: A fracture reduction implant for treating a vertebral compression fracture and instruments and methods for implanting the fracture reduction device utilizing a minimally invasive lateral approach are described. The implant may be inserted into a fractured vertebra through a T-shaped cut formed in the vertebral wall. The T-shaped cut may be formed in the lateral aspect of the wall. After insertion, a portion of the implant may be elevated within the vertebral body to reduce the fracture. The implant may include a base assembly with an elevator plate and a support column. The support column may be configured for guided insertion into the base assembly. The support column may be locked to the base assembly after insertion.
