  • Patent number: 12065145
Abstract: The disclosure generally pertains to systems and methods for providing a vehicle occupant preparation system for certain acceleration modes. In an example method, sensor data associated with one or more sensors of the vehicle may be generated when a vehicle is in an acceleration mode. Subsequently, an orientation of an occupant in the vehicle relative to a seat or other structure within an interior of the vehicle may be determined using the sensor data. The orientation of the occupant may comprise at least a position of a head of the occupant or a direction the head of the occupant is facing. It may be determined that the orientation of the occupant is not within a predetermined orientation threshold. A notification associated with the orientation of the occupant may then be presented. In some instances, a performance parameter of the vehicle may be adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20230364999
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for adjusting regenerative braking in response to normal loads applied to each of a vehicle's wheels coupled to an electric machine. In one example, a regenerative braking torque for a wheel may be adjusted in response to a normal load that is applied to the wheel as wheel load changes during vehicle braking.

  • Publication number: 20230041498
Abstract: The disclosure generally pertains to systems and methods for assisting a driver to travel through a drive-through lane of an establishment in an autonomous mode of operation. In an example method, a processor in a vehicle determines a location of the vehicle in a drive-through lane in various ways such as, for example, based on objects located in the vicinity of the drive-through lane, based on location coordinates, and/or based on a geofence defined around the establishment. The processor may then place the vehicle in an autonomous mode of operation and instruct the driver of the vehicle to refrain from touching vehicle driving control components such as the steering wheel, the brake pedal, and the accelerator pedal. The vehicle autonomously then moves through the drive-through lane in a stop-and-go mode of movement at a controlled speed while executing lane-centering and collision avoidance.

  • Patent number: 11565655
Abstract: A vehicle includes a first sensor that senses a state of the vehicle and a second sensor that senses outside of the vehicle. A computing device is configured to receive signals from the sensors and to control rotating and turning of the wheels. While the vehicle is parked, the computing device determines according to a signal received from the sensors, that a condition is satisfied. The condition may be associated with a particular wheel. Based on determining that the condition is satisfied, and while the vehicle remains parked, the computing device initiates automatically rotating or turning the particular wheel associated with the condition.
