    Abstract: A power management and smart lighting system is provided that enables efficient distribution of DC power to various building features, including LED lighting. The power management system includes an intelligent power supply unit configured to convert AC power drawn from a building load center into a deadband DC waveform. The deadband DC power generated by the intelligent power supply unit is then transmitted over power-with-Ethernet cables to a plurality of distributed intelligent drivers, each configured to intelligently power one or more LED troffers. The intelligent drivers may be daisy-chained to one another by the power-with-Ethernet cables, enabling a power-ring architecture. To enable easy control of the drivers, intelligent sensors can be distributed throughout the topology and connected to the drivers (e.g., via power-with-Ethernet cables) to enable a wide array of lighting control options.

    Abstract: Bundled cables and a method for maintaining a plurality of cables together during use and installation and for allowing the cables to be easily separated for termination or connectorization. The bundled cables include a plurality of cables and a central flexible strip coated with a thermoplastic heat-sealable resin for semi-permanently bundling the cables. In operation, the strip is heated to activate the heat-sealable resin. The cables are then placed in contact with the strip to bind to the strip as the heat-sealable resin cools. The bond created by the heat-sealable resin is strong enough to hold the cables together during installation and use but allows the cables to be easily separated in whole or in part from the bundle.

The bobbin stripper comprises a cutting head that includes a cutting blade having a straight side and a tapered side having a sharp edge. The cutting blade is movable in a vertical position and in a horizontal direction substantially parallel to the bobbin drum. Once the cutting blade passes along the length of the bobbin drum in one direction, the cutting blade may be rotated such that the sharp edge may engage and penetrate the remnant material in the reverse direction. The process may be repeated until the desired depth of the incision has been reached. A stop and sensor prevent the blade from cutting the drum. The remnant material may thereafter be removed by a pair of stripping plates.
