  • Patent number: 5377884
Abstract: In combination, a hanger for garments and other articles and a separately formed indicator secured to the hanger for indicating information associated with the garments and other articles and manually releasable therefrom without the use of a tool. The hanger defines a hook adapted to engage a rail, and the hook in turn defines a support for receiving and engaging the indicator. The indicator is received and engaged by the support. The indicator includes a hollow four-sided body defining an open top, an open bottom, a generally parallel pair of opposed sides, and a generally parallel pair of opposed ends connecting the sides, each side having a generally planar side surface and each end having a generally planar end surface extending beyond both of the planar side surfaces. The indicator is disengageable and removable from the support by manually moving at least one of the ends towards the other end, thereby to cause the sides to bow outwardly relative to the support.

  • Patent number: 5267678
Abstract: An improved hanger for pants and the like includes a hook portion and a clamp portion mounted on the hook portion. The clamp portion defines at least one clamp of generally inverted U-shaped configuration having a first leg, a second leg and a bight portion connecting the first and second legs. The first and second legs are biased together to clamp pants and the like therebetween, the first leg also defining an aperture therethrough to enable manual separation of the first and second legs for passage of pants and the like therebetween. The hook and clamp portions together are a one-piece construction formed exclusively of plastic in a single operation.

  • Patent number: 5236109
Abstract: A multigarment hanger of plastic construction, such as a bra-and-panty hanger, includes a centrally located suspending member for being suspended from a support, a body connected to the base of the suspending member and oriented horizontally when used, and, at each of the opposite ends of the body, plural garment-engaging grips molded integrally therewith. One of the grips is defined by a vertically oriented wall surface of the hanger and a first resilient finger to define a first clearance space therebetween defining a first garment-receiving slot, and at least another of the grips is defined by a horizontally oriented wall surface and a second resilient finger to define a second clearance space therebetween defining a second garment-receiving slot. At least a portion of the vertically oriented wall surface of the one grip is horizontally displaceable without affecting the second clearance space of any other grip.

  • Patent number: 5199608
Abstract: A garment hanger having an indicia-bearing tab for displaying customer information is provided. A tab holder is integrally formed as part of the hanger. The tab is mounted on an edge of the tab holder, adjacent a ridge formed on the tab holder. The ridge, together with two end members formed on the tab holder on either side of the tab, prevent a consumer from obtaining a finger purchase on the tab. Thus, once the tab is mounted on the tab holder, it cannot be removed without using a tool. The dimensions of the ridge and end members, and their location on the tab holder, may be selected to prevent removal of the tab by hand or by tool.

  • Patent number: 5183190
Abstract: A foldable garment hanger capable of being attached to and folded with a garment and then boxed, if necessary, and shipped with the garment in a minimum of space so that the hanger needs merely to be unfolded with the garment and hung upon arrival at the retail store. The hanger is comprised of a hanger body, a suspension member and two arms, each with garment retaining means at its end. The arms are connected by a living hinge that enables the arms to be folded toward each other. The suspension member possesses latching means and is connected to the body by a hinge that enables the suspension member to be folded along the hinge and latched to the body arms for support in hanging of the hanger.

  • Patent number: 4438874
Abstract: A unitary garment hanger system fabricated in monolithic form in a single molding step to include a plurality of relatively spaced hanger elements that are formed unitary with and integrally connected by struts that join the hanger elements together for articulation between selected positions on opposite sides of each other and at relatively different heights for the attractive individual display of garments supported thereon.

  • Patent number: 4424922
Abstract: A three dimensional plastic garment hanger is molded with an original shape for the display of a garment, but is reshapeable at the site of the display of the attractive details of other garments, as the need arises. The garment hanger includes selectively releasable connections that retain the garment hanger in its originally molded three dimensional shape with front and rear sections fixed from relative movement. The invention further includes a method of making the hanger to enable the same to be reshaped to that of different garments at the site of display of such garments.
