Abstract: A drive transfer system (40) configured to drive a remote implantable medical device (1) configured to treat disease, the system (40) comprising a motor (42) configured to actuate an implantable medical device (1), a controller device (41) communicable with the motor (42) configured to modify the output parameters of the motor (42) in accordance with the treatment required, and a drive shaft (8) configured to operably connect the motor (42) to the implantable medical device (1) to drive the implantable medical device (1) when the motor (42) is located remotely from the implantable medical device (1). The system of the invention finds particular utility in the treatment of cardiac diseases such as heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).

Abstract: A heart implant system (1) comprises a heart implant (2, 20) and a delivery catheter (3) detachably attached to the heart implant to percutaneously deliver the heart implant to a heart (60) of a subject. The heart implant comprises an anchoring assembly (4) comprising an anchoring hub (8) and first petals (9) and second petals (10) hingedly attached to the anchoring hub and adjustable relative to the anchoring hub between a crimped delivery configuration and an uncrimped deployed configuration in which the first petals extend radially outwardly of the anchoring hub to limit distal movement of the implant and the second petals form an expandable conforming cage configured to create a stabilising apposition to a wall of a target locus for the implant.

Abstract: A system to treat heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is described. The system comprises a blood pumping device configured for implantation in a left ventricle of a heart of a subject, an anchoring assembly for anchoring the blood pumping device to a wall of the left ventricle, and a controller configured to modify the output parameters of the blood pumping device so as to activate and deactivate the blood pumping device in a pattern synergistic with a cardiac cycle of the subject comprising activation during ventricular diastole and deactivation during ventricular systole.

Abstract: A new water maze for providing a unique and refreshing attraction for amusement parks and other similar facilities. The inventive device includes a labyrinth having a plurality of passages, operative and inoperative sprinkler heads in the ceilings of certain passages, a water supply system to supply water to the operative sprinkler heads, and a motion sensor associated with each operative sprinkler head to activate the discharge of water therefrom for a predetermined length of time when a person enters an incorrect passage.
