  • Patent number: 5660658
Abstract: A method and apparatus for preconditioning a decalcomania transfer for application to a receiving substrate in which the decalcomania is passed through a solution to precondition it for transfer. The decalcomania is fed through a pair of opposed web-like members, passed through a solution bath and has excess solution removed from the decalcomania prior to application to the receiving surface. By controlling the speed of the web-like members, the submersion time of the decalcomania in the solution is controlled. The apparatus is a container which houses the web-like feeder belts and the solution bath. The bath is partially enclosed to minimize evaporation of the solution. A pair of rollers at the outlet of the apparatus control the amount of solution remaining in the decalcomania such that the decalcomania exiting the apparatus will have sufficient solution to allow easy transfer to the receiving surface yet not have too much solution as to result in excess dripping of solution on the receiving item.

  • Patent number: 5195606
Abstract: If the driver of a vehicle becomes partially or totally incapacitated, the driver or a passenger can operate the push button of a ratcheting push button switch so as to close contacts which energize an air compressor whereby compressed air is supplied to an air cylinder adapted to actuate the existing brakes on the vehicle. A collapsible toggle linkage is connected between the brake pedal and the piston rod of the cylinder whereby the cylinder can operate the pedal without interfering with the normal operation of the pedal. Alternatively, a flexible cable is connected between the pedal and the air cylinder. As another alternative, an air cylinder is connected between the brake pedal and a pushable member for actuating the brakes. A collapsible toggle linkage is connected between the brake pedal and the body of the vehicle to limit return movement of the pedal.

  • Patent number: 4453843
Abstract: The disclosed trot-line reel is used for reeling and unreeling a trot-line having a multiplicity of leaders secured thereto at spaced intervals therealong, with fish hooks at the ends of the leaders. The reel comprises a cylindrical shaft with a spool mounted thereon and having first and second end flanges. The shaft has first and second end portions projecting from the spool beyond the corresponding end flanges. The first end flange has an edge portion with a multiplicity of slots therein for receiving the leaders of the trot-line. Numerous rubber bands are anchored around the first end portion of the shaft for receiving the hooks of the trot-line with the rubber bands stretched to maintain the leaders under tension to prevent tangling of the leaders and the hooks. A split ring, such as a key ring, may be retained around the end of the shaft to anchor the rubber bands. The split ring makes it easy to add new rubber bands, when needed to replace broken bands.
