  • Publication number: 20070100898
Abstract: A system for automatically creating and maintaining a database of information utilizing user opinions about subjects, particularly exceptional experiences. Described is an Internet system assisting/motivating a population of users interested in information about certain categories of subjects to automatically maintain the database content and to improve the usefulness and quality of the database information without any substantial management by the website owner-manager. The user opinions are primarily in the form of both comments and ratings about which natural-language terms best describe a particular subject, enabling user searches of the subject database to be by way of preferred such descriptive natural-language terms, which terms are further preferred to be evaluative and approving.

  • Patent number: 7136480
Abstract: A system, method, apparatus, computer program code, and other embodiments for allowing a call to a busy telephone number extension to be queued and/or handled in accordance with one or more rules. The telephone may be connected to a PBX (Private Branch Exchange) or other switch or otherwise may be connected to a telephone network. In addition, a computer associated with the person also may be connected directly or indirectly to the PBX. A server connected to the PBX via a CTI (Computer Telephone Integration) link may be connected to the computer via a computer network. If a new call arrives at the PBX for the specific extension while the extension is busy, the PBX may notify the server of the call. When multiple incoming calls to the same extension exist, the server may indicate to the PBX how or in what order to queue the calls to the person.

  • Publication number: 20060218548
Abstract: The described systems and methods are directed at configuring a server based on a selected role. An installation application is configured to install core components in a server where these core components enable the server to perform the basic functions of a network computing device. A role management application is configured to enable a system administrator to select a role for the server and to automatically determine software components associated with the selected role. The role management application is then configured to build the software components and install the components on the server. The role management application is further configured to configure the components for the selected role. The automated installation process performed by the role management application enables a server to be efficiently configured for a particular role without installing other unnecessary components unrelated to the role.
