Abstract: A tool for use in affixing an optical component, such as glass, to a liquid crystal display (LCD) using a silicone gel mixture of dimethyl siloxane and a vinyl terminated dimethyl polymer includes, in one embodiment, a unitary metallic platen that is shaped to define a central window. A narrow shelf is defined around the outer periphery of the central window, the shelf serving to support the optical component during the application of the silicone gel thereon. A upwardly extending partition is formed onto the top surface of the platen around the shelf, the partition serving, among other things, to retain the optical component fixed in place on the platen during the assembly process. A plurality of identical, spaced apart, upwardly extending standoffs are formed onto the free end of the partition and are designed to support the LCD a fixed distance away from the optical component.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for restricting the distance between a user's wrists is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a removable first wrist cuff with a first fastener for securing the first wrist cuff to a user's wrist and a first attachment member connected to the first wrist cuff. The apparatus also comprises a removable second wrist cuff with a fastener for securing the second wrist cuff to a user's wrist and a second attachment member connected to the second wrist cuff. An elastic member is attached to both first and second attachment members such that, in operation, a user's wrists are respectively encircled by said first and second wrist cuffs and the distance between said first and second wrist cuffs is limited by said elastic member. The apparatus may be used for athletic training such as football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, boxing, and weight lifting.

Abstract: A light detection apparatus is described. The apparatus includes a photomultiplier tube having a window for receiving light incident thereon. A photocathode is affixed to an inner surface of the window in a known manner. The apparatus further includes an optical fiber and a means for coupling the optical fiber to the window of said photomultiplier tube so that light can be introduced into the window at an angle that results in total internal reflection of the light. The coupling means may be embodied as a fiber optic terminal connector. Alternatively, the coupling means may include a prism affixed to the outside surface of the window.

The unit provides a designated location for inspector communications and plan storage that protects the job-card and plans. The plans may be stored in hard copy in a plan storage box or cylinder attached to the unit, or may be electronically stored for local viewing or printing. Security features may be included to restrict access to the plans and/or job-card via traditional, electronic keys or passwords/personal identification numbers (PINs). Further, additional compartments may be accessed conditioned upon the security feature, completion of inspection or status of inspection.

The body is other than a particle, and the cross-sectional area of the body measured in a pane generally perpendicular to its normal direction of travel in use may be at least half that of the chamber in the same plane.

Abstract: According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a clutch is applied when the vehicle comes to a stop. The application of this clutch locks the output shaft with energy stored therein. When the shift selector is then moved to the park position, the clutch releases the stored energy in a controlled manner by slipping the clutch plates. The controlled slipping reduces the noise as the park pawl tooth contracts an output gear tooth.
