  • Patent number: 8646641
Abstract: The invention relates to a tank for storing fluid. In one embodiment, a tank (10) for storing fluids is disclosed, the tank comprising a vessel (12) for receiving and storing fluid, and a reinforcing structure (14) for the vessel. The reinforcing structure is located externally of the vessel. The vessel has a generally quadrilateral shape in plan view, and a base (16) which is generally dish-shaped, with an outlet (18) located in a position which facilitates discharge of the fluid from the vessel. In providing a tank having a vessel which is generally quadrilateral shape in plan view, the tank offers benefits over prior cylindrical tanks in terms of maximizing the use of available storage space on a ship, or on a vehicle used to transport the tank. Additionally, in providing a tank having a vessel which has a base that is generally dish-shaped, the tank offers improvements over prior quadrilateral shape tanks.

  • Publication number: 20110213711
Abstract: A system and method provides electronic transaction verification using multiple different units. A first unit initiates an electronic transaction in response to user authentication affirmation by, for example, a server (such as a web server). After the user has been authenticated, another unit, such as a mobile device, receives a transaction confirmation request for the electronic transaction that is ongoing via the first unit. In addition, the second unit also receives from, for example, the server, transaction information based on the electronic transaction. The second device through a user interface and without requiring a user to enter transaction information, provides the received transaction information from the server for evaluation by a user of the second unit. The second unit requests from the user, in response to the transaction confirmation request, confirmation of the transaction.

  • Patent number: 7462164
Abstract: This device comprises means for supporting a first and a second chamber, means for allowing these chambers to communicate with each other, and a movable member for applying a suitable force to reduce the volume of the first chamber. The means for supporting the first and second chambers comprise two tubular bodies, each open at one end, the dimensions of these openings being such as to allow these tubular bodies to be brought together and slid one into the other, a double-ended needle, with associated guide means, being interposed between the said chambers in such a way that when the said tubular bodies are slid towards each other, the respective ends of the said needle pass into the chambers and the volume of the chamber is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7357198
Abstract: The invention relates to apparatus for use in wellbores and particularly, but not exclusively, to circulating subs used during downhole drilling operations. The apparatus includes a control groove and a pin received within the control groove for determining whether or not a longitudinal movement of a piston in a given direction relative to the apparatus body will move the apparatus between open and closed configurations. The apparatus further includes a control member located between and movable relative to the body and the piston. The control groove is defined in one of the piston and control member, and the pin is provided on the other of the piston and control member. Means are also provided for constraining movement of the piston relative to the body to longitudinal movement only. The invention thus provides an apparatus which has improved reliability in moving between open and closed configurations.
