    Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for a probe for forming a lesion in a target tissue. The probe comprises an elongate member with a distal tip and a proximal end. The elongate member defines a lumen therebetween which circulates cooling fluid. The probe further includes at least one active portion configured to deliver energy to the target tissue and at least one orifice. A portion of the cooling fluid is ejected from the at least one orifice to cool the target tissue and the remainder is internally circulated through the lumen of the probe.
