Patent number: 9458000Abstract: A pallet truck adapter having side by side shoes for fitting over pallet supporting tines, in which the shoes are of different heights. This facilitates locating one pallet on the higher shoe, lifting it slightly off of the supporting surface, and then moving to and lifting another pallet on the lower shoe. The adjacent pallets can then be moved together and off loaded at different locations, unloading the pallet on the lower shoe first, and the pallet on the higher shoe thereafter.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2015Date of Patent: October 4, 2016Assignee: Magline, Inc.Inventors: Andrew P. Richard, John C. Belotti

Publication number: 20120098218Abstract: A brake paddle hand truck comprising a hand truck with a frame with a handle at the top and wheels at the bottom, and a braking device comprising an actuator, a brake paddle, and a connector operatively attaching the actuator and brake. The actuator and brake are each pivotally mounted to the side rails of the frame via mounting brackets. The actuator includes a lever to increase the force applied by a user. Preferably two independently rotatable brake paddles, having a lever member and a brake member are provided, and the lever members are connected to the actuator via an upside-down Y-shaped connector. When the actuator is raised, the connector transfers the upward force to brake lever members, which are also raised, causing the brake members to be lowered into contact with the wheels.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 21, 2010Publication date: April 26, 2012Inventors: Andrew P. Richard, Brian D. Spicer

Publication number: 20100095875Abstract: A pallet may include a deck having a load carrying surface and a lower surface, and at least two spaced apart support legs. The legs may have one or more passages formed therethrough at a level beneath the lower surface of the deck to enable receipt of packaging material through the legs and beneath the deck to facilitate securing an object to the deck. The legs and deck may be made out of plastic materials, and may be formed in one-piece or in separate pieces connected together by complementary and mated connection features. The deck may include a plurality of friction elements adapted to engage an object on the deck to, for example, reduce slippage of the object relative to the deck.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 14, 2009Publication date: April 22, 2010Applicant: Magline, Inc.Inventors: Bruce L. Hailston, Andrew P. Richard

Publication number: 20090212516Abstract: A hand truck for carrying and transporting loads includes a frame, one or more wheels, and one or more active identifiers. The wheels are connected to the frame for moving the hand truck place to place. In one embodiment, the active identifier(s) includes a housing with a base connected to the frame and with a cover removably connected to the base. The active identifier(s) includes one or more light sources supported by the housing and enclosed by the cover. The active identifier(s) includes a power source supported by the housing in order to provide power to the light source(s).Type: ApplicationFiled: February 23, 2009Publication date: August 27, 2009Applicant: Magline, Inc.Inventor: Andrew P. Patent number: 5940953Abstract: A wheeled tooling cart for a thermoformer machine enabling quick and easy removal and installation of upper and lower tooling plates from their respective platens. The tooling plates are held on upper framework on the cart, which are removed one at a time with the cart in position adjacent the machine with one and the opposite end successively. The tooling plates are held in position on the cart for reinstallation when the cart is appropriately repositioned with respect to the thermoformer machine. An elevator mechanism allows an upper framework having attachment brackets and rails for holding the tooling plates to be raised and lowered on a wheeled lower framework to move the attachment brackets and rails into proper position for attachment and removal of the tooling plates.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 1997Date of Patent: August 24, 1999Assignee: Brown Machine LLC.Inventors: Albert W. Arends, Andrew P. Richard

Patent number: 5939107Abstract: A preheater and method of preheating a thermoplastic sheet prior to entry of the sheet into a differential pressure forming machine which forms an article in the sheet. The preheater includes mechanism for initially threading a sheet in a generally horizontal plane, mechanism for concurrently displacing upstream and downstream portions of the sheet in vertically opposite directions relative to the horizontal plane to dispose a portion of the sheet in an upstanding plane. A heater is provided for heating the upstanding portion of the sheet in the upstanding plane. After the sheet has been repositioned with a portion in the upstanding plane, the heater is laterally moved from an inoperative position to a sheet heating position receiving the portion of the sheet at the sheet heating station. Mechanism is provided for selectively moving the sheet downstream after the sheet has been vertically displaced.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 1997Date of Patent: August 17, 1999Inventors: Albert W. Arends, Andrew P. Richard
