    Abstract: The present invention provides a portable luminometer for detecting very low light levels. The detector includes a sensor arranged to measure light emission from a sample contained in a housing of the detector. The sample is input through a port having a lid. The lid includes a member arranged to prevent the transmission of all exterior light to the sensor when the sample is being measured.
