  • Publication number: 20070229244
Abstract: The invention is a buckle having a means for providing an alert upon the use of the buckle comprising a buckle body, at least one buckle connector that releasably connects to the buckle body, a buckle mechanism within the buckle body that latches with respect to the buckle body, the buckle mechanism also being operable to release the buckle connector, a signal module attached with respect to the buckle body produces an alert signal, switch means on the signal module that, when operated, causes the signal module to produce an alert signal, and an actuator that is moved by either the buckle mechanism or the buckle connector to operate the switch means when the buckle connector connects or disconnects to the buckle body. The invention provides a means if indicating when the buckle is properly connected and also when the buckle is being disconnected. This will provide an alarm when the buckle is being inadvertently released.
