  • Publication number: 20210106900
Abstract: A system of batting gloves enables a batter to position his or her hands on a bat in a manner such that the batter has a proper grip of the bat. A pair of batting gloves contains markings in the middle of the fingers at locations that are approximately where a batter's middle or knocking knuckles will be positioned in the glove. When a batter wears the gloves and holds a bat, the batter will position his or her hands such that the markings on the glove fingers of the two gloves will align and form a line. When the markings are aligned and form a line, the batters' hands are positioned in a proper or preferred grip of the bat.

  • Patent number: 6072071
Abstract: 1,2 and 1,3-dinitrate esters are prepared from polyols containing 1,2- or 1,3-diol fragments using an alkyl or aryl boronic acid to form a cyclic boronate ester derivative which is then reacted with dinitrogen pentoxide to directly generate the dinitrate ester. In the cyclic ester from the 1,2- or 1,3-hydroxyl groups are protected and other reactions may then be carried out on other parts of the molecule of which the fragment form a part, leaving the dinitrate ester to be produced subsequently in the final step. High yields are obtained at both stages.

  • Patent number: 5440026
Abstract: A method for the preparation of a sucrose 6-ester comprises:(i) reacting sucrose with a ketene acetal in the presence of an acid catalyst in an inert organic solvent to form a sucrose alkyl 4, 6-orthoester;(ii) subjecting the sucrose alkyl 4, 6-orthoester to mild acidic hydrolysis to provide a mixture of 4- and 6-monoesters of sucrose; and(iii) treating the mixture of sucrose monoesters with a base to convert the sucrose 4-ester into sucrose 6-ester. Sucralose may be prepared by chlorination of sucrose 6-esters prepared according to the invention.

  • Patent number: 4271317
Abstract: The invention relates to alkylborane complexes with aromatic amines of the formula: ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different (1-4C)-alkyl radicals, or together with the adjacent nitrogen atom are morpholino, piperidino or pyrrolidino radicals; R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are independently selected from hydrogen, (1-4C)-alkyl, (1-4C)-alkoxy, di-(1-4C)-alkylamino, morpholino, piperidino and pyrrolidino; thexyl stands for 1,1,2-trimethylpropyl; and n is the integer 1 when R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are other than nitrogen containing radicals, or the integer 1 or 2 when one of R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 is a nitrogen containing radical, or the integer 1, 2 or 3 when both R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are nitrogen containing radicals. The complexes are more stable than thexylborane tetrahydrofuran complex, but are sufficiently reactive to be valuable as hydroborating and reducing agents.
