Publication number: 20230313647Abstract: A method to dynamically control fluid flow in a multi-well system includes receiving first fluid flow data indicative of fluid flow at a first node of a plurality of nodes, each node being a node along a well of a plurality of wells of a multi-well system, receiving second fluid flow data indicative of fluid flow at a second node of the plurality of nodes, analyzing the first fluid flow data and the second fluid flow data, determining an impact on fluid flow at the second node due to fluid flow at the first node, and determining, based on the impact, whether to adjust fluid flow at a node of the plurality of nodes. In response to a determination to adjust fluid flow at the node, the method further includes determining an adjustment to the fluid flow at the node; and requesting a fluid control device to make the adjustment.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 31, 2022Publication date: October 5, 2023Inventors: Clifford ALLEN, Andrew PENNO, Alejandro Javier CHACON, John O'HARA

Patent number: 11391138Abstract: Acid stimulation operations in a wellbore may be conducted using frac plugs constructed of a hydrolytically degradable polymer. The frac plugs may be constructed of an aliphatic polyester such as PGA and may be readily pumped into position in the wellbore due in part to their relatively low density. Once perforations have been created in the wellbore and a first frac plug is set in place, an acid solution may be pumped at a high-pressure acid against the frac plug and into the geologic formation. A second and/or any number of subsequent frac plugs may be pumped behind the acid, e.g., in brine solution, to be used in subsequent acid stimulation operations. After completing acid stimulation operations, the frac plugs may degrade in the wellbore to permit production.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2020Date of Patent: July 19, 2022Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventors: Albert Winkler, Andrew Penno, Michael Linley Fripp

Patent number: 11377950Abstract: Method and system for deploying a frac package in a wellbore includes providing a location module for the frac package that can determine a position of the frac package in the wellbore. The location module operates to receive beacon signals from beacons located on the wellbore string and to calculate a velocity of the frac package based on the beacon signals. The location module further operates to calculate a location of the frac package based a time since a latest beacon signal and the velocity of the frac package. In some implementations, the beacons includes at least one beacon that transmits or emits a signal and at least one beacon that does not transmit or emit a signal.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2020Date of Patent: July 5, 2022Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventors: Michael Linley Fripp, Andrew Penno
