  • Patent number: 6850611
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for maintaining and updating records of the routing of switches in a telephony network. Information identifying new or changed telephony codes may be received from a regulatory or industry source. Other routing changes may also be received. Code changes may be compared to existing code routing information to determine if an automated routing proposal can be made. Necessary routing changes may be designed and listed for translation. After translation sign-off confirms that the routing changes have been made in the telephony switches, the routing information is updated to incorporate the routing changes.
