  • Patent number: 11453481
Abstract: A leading edge structure for an aerofoil is disclosed. The leading edge structure includes a skin configured to form an external aerodynamic surface of the aerofoil. The skin includes a plurality of first regions interleaved with a plurality of second regions. Each first region includes a plurality of holes extending through the skin, and each second region includes an electrical heating system configured to increase the temperature of the skin.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 25, 2020
Date of Patent: September 27, 2022
    Assignee: AIRBUS OPERATIONS LIMITED
Inventors: David Andrew Phipps, Vernon John Holmes
  • Patent number: 11401025
Abstract: A wing leading edge assembly is disclosed including a leading edge panel and a cover panel located over the structural component. The cover panel has a thermoplastic layer with an inner surface. A thermoplastic fastening member extends through the structural component and is welded to the inner surface so that the structural component is fastened between the inner surface and the fastening member.

  • Publication number: 20060200582
Abstract: A method and system to convert a plurality of unique identifiers (license plates) from defined certain defined classes of unique identifiers (i.e. license plates) into electronic addresses enabling digital communication, content, and commerce to be transferred to the associated address, whereby a verified rightful holder of the unique identifier can claim by contract; rights which can grant access to the digital data that has been transferred to the assigned electronic address. It is an object, in some aspects, to allow a sender without knowing the identity of the holder of the unique identifier, to communicate a message, send money, pictures, and files to the converted corresponding electronic address in the hopes that the holder will claim the email address through a verification process. In order to facilitate the invention a central domain repository is used to determine and publish a uniform convention for the unique identifier, to establish a standard that is universal.

  • Patent number: 5863608
Abstract: A method for preparing a castable amorphous fluorocarbon coating upon the surface of a substrate which includes the steps of initially depositing a film of a fluorocarbon having a thickness between about 1500 .ANG. and 50,000 .ANG., and thereafter applying a second coating as a coverlay upon the initial film. Both the initial film and the castable coating consist of an amorphous fluorinated (ethylenic-cyclo oxyaliphatic substituted ethylenic) copolymer having the structural repeating unit: ##STR1## wherein "m" and "n" represent integers providing a molecular weight of between about 230,000 and 500,000, with the relative values of "m" and "n" providing a copolymer with a glass transition temperature ranging from between about 160.degree. C. and 240.degree. C.
