  • Patent number: 5347889
Abstract: A device is described for removing either a cork or a mushroom-shape stopper from a bottle. It includes a support frame having a bottom ring member adapted to engage the neck of a wine bottle, a top cap member with a threaded hole extending therethrough and at least two circumferentially spaced longitudinal support members extending between the top cap and bottom ring. A threaded shaft having an upper end and a lower end is mounted in the top cap threaded hole, this shaft having a handle mounted on the upper end thereof.

  • Patent number: 4335439
Abstract: A system is described for automatically monitoring lengths and thicknesses of strip metal stock being fed to a metal processing machine, e.g. a power press. The system comprises:(a) measuring wheel and transducer adapted to generate electrical signals proportional to the actual length of advancement of the stock,(b) a linear vertical differential transformer probe adapted to generate electrical signals proportional to the actual thickness of the strip stock fed, and(c) a programmable memory bank adapted to count electric pulses received from said length measuring means thereby measuring the length of feed stock actually fed, to convert electric pulses received from said thickness measuring means to measurements of the thickness of feedstock actually fed and also being adapted to store data based on the predetermined width and density of the stock and determine the weight of stock fed as computed from the width and density data stored and the determined length and thickness of the actual stock fed.

  • Patent number: 4177517
Abstract: A monitoring device is described for use with a rotary drive shaft of a machine tool, such as a power press. The monitoring device includes a light emitting means and a photo-electric receiving means for producing a discrete electrical signal for each rotation of the driveshaft through a selected fractional part of one rotation of the shaft, a data processor for receiving said electrical signals and converting said signals to rotational positions of said shaft in degrees and a digital display adapted to indicate the output of the data processor in degrees of a circle.
