  • Patent number: 9354578
Abstract: Methods and systems of forecasting consumption of a consumable for a machine are disclosed. A computing device receives consumption time series data for a consumable for a plurality of machines. The consumption time series data for each machine includes an amount of the consumable consumed by the machine during each of multiple time periods. For at least one of the plurality of machines, the computing device determines a model consumption forecast for the machine for each of multiple dynamic linear models based on the consumption time series data for the consumable for the machine and the dynamic linear model. The computing device further determines, for at least one of the machines, a final consumption forecast based on the model consumption forecasts. An amount of the consumable is provided for the at least one machine based on the final consumption forecast.

  • Publication number: 20160125404
Abstract: A system and method for identifying perpetrators of ATM fraud. A subscription fee is collected for defined services for collecting, processing, and analyzing facial data. Facial data is acquired from a person conducting a transaction with an automated transaction system having a camera device. The facial data is linked to a transaction identifier including at least time and location associated with the transaction. The facial data and the transaction identifier are stored in a centralized repository. Upon request from an authorized subscriber to identify the person based on the transaction identifier, because the transaction is deemed fraudulent, the facial data associated with the transaction identifier is compared to facial profiles obtained from private, public, and law enforcement databases. Potential identity matches are generated based on the facial profiles. The potential identity matches are output to the authorized subscriber for further prosecutorial and/or investigative actions.

  • Patent number: 7168779
Abstract: A method and apparatus for masking low drop volume print defects in inkjet printers. In one exemplary embodiment, the invention obtains a print mask, determines a likelihood that an individual ink ejection nozzle will produce a low drop volume, determining a correction factor, and compensates for the low drop volume. The low drop volume may be compensated by increasing the drop intensity, modifying the print mask, or combinations of both.

  • Patent number: 7163275
Abstract: Methods and apparatus provide for automatic fluid ejector alignment and performance evaluation and modification in one or multiple planes. A fluid ejector fires a drop through a drop detection module. A signal indicating drop presence or absence is sent to a computer. The computer analyzes the data, and makes a compensation determination of a preferred method of using the fluid ejector. The compensation determination may include electronically modifying the image data to be printed, physically manipulating the fluid ejector, completely skipping the fluid ejector during printing operations, or in some other way modifying the fluid ejector or image data such that apparent printed image error due to fluid ejector alignment or performance error is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7083246
Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing or preventing fluid misplacement by a fluid-ejecting head having a plurality of fluid ejectors are disclosed. Each of the fluid ejectors has a transducer activated in some sequence in response to input signals to eject a fluid droplet from the fluid ejector. The systems comprise electronics which integrate delay time buffers into the sequence of fluid ejector firing electronics. Adjusting the delay time buffers will adjust the angle between printed data (e.g. vertical lines) and the direction of the head motion. Several methods for determining the delay times that produce the optimal fluid placement are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6669336
Abstract: An ink jet printhead has an upper substrate containing a reservoir with ink inlet and a lower substrate having a linear array of droplet generating elements and addressing electrodes thereon. At least two layers of polymeric material are serially deposited and patterned over the droplet generating elements and addressing electrodes prior to mating the two substrates. The patterned polymeric layers define an elongated opening containing an array of posts therein and a plurality of channels, each channel containing a droplet generating element. One end of the channels is open to serve as nozzles and the other end is in communication with the elongated opening with the array of posts. After the two substrates are aligned and mated, the reservoir is in communication with the elongated opening, so that the ink from the reservoir is filtered prior to entering the channels by passing between and over the posts in the elongated opening.
