  • Publication number: 20250105922
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, arranging a signal into a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) spectral slot, wherein the signal has a first spectral width, communicating with a receiver using the signal, determining one or more network characteristics based on the communicating, adjusting a center wavelength of the signal in accordance with the one or more network characteristics, modifying the signal such that the signal has a second spectral width, resulting in a modified signal, wherein the second spectral width is larger than the first spectral width, and causing the modified signal to carry traffic to the receiver. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20240333784
Abstract: A system for steering chunked media content using a plurality of content delivery networks (CDNs) and an edge computing platform, is disclosed. Upon receiving a media content request, a first edge server routes the request to a first CDN for delivering chunks of media content. A second edge server processes a steering request to instantiate a stateless steering server. The second edge server analyzes Quality of Service (QOS) of the CDNs to determine a priority order of the CDNs for future content delivery. The steering server generates a response containing a priority order of CDNs, a time interval for subsequent requests, and a reload URI. The URI triggers a new steering server instantiation with the plurality of CDNs after the time interval. The system enhances media playback by dynamically steering content across CDNs based on QOS analysis.

  • Publication number: 20230229023
Abstract: The present invention consists of a set of sunglasses used for locating shark teeth on a beach. The invention takes advantage of the way the human brain generates images in order to make shark teeth stand out on the sand. It does so by blocking out specific wavelengths of light that help to accentuate color differences between the teeth and the underlying beach surface. Shark teeth undergo a change of color after falling out that causes them to be differentiable in shade from sand or sediment. By selectively filtering corresponding shades of light, the present invention causes the teeth to stand out as spots on the sand, significantly increasing the ease of spotting and collecting them. When the wavelengths of light reaching the eye are filtered, the shark teeth ultimately stand out as stark dark areas on the beach.

  • Patent number: 7475112
Abstract: A presentation system receives streams of videos of a video conference and presents the videos on the faces of a three-dimensional object. The presentation system selects which video should be presented more prominently than the other videos. The presentation system generates an image of the three-dimensional object that represents a view location from which the selected video is prominently visible and videos of other conference participants are less prominently visible. The presentation system then displays the image to the conference participant.

  • Patent number: 7451127
Abstract: Systems and methods for web store events. A web store event occurs whenever an item is accessed. When an item is accessed, both synchronous and asynchronous events can fire. If a synchronous event fires, then an event object that has registered for the synchronous event is called and executed before the transaction involving the item is allowed to complete. The synchronous event also has the ability to either commit or abort the transaction. Importantly, the synchronous event has complete control over the item. An asynchronous event is called and executed after the transaction involving the item is already committed to the store and after any synchronous events have executed. Because more than one event object can register for a web store event, synchronous event objects are called according to their priority. Synchronous events fire before asynchronous events and synchronous event objects execute before asynchronous event objects.
